Nice Adam!

It was common for 5501s to be sold on an SS bracelet. Nice retro combo

No problem. The bracelets were dealer-fit options back then so all kinds of combinations were possible

Hi, I have a 114200 with blue concentric dial/ Arabia orange numbers. It is very nice under sunny day but a bit hard to see time at night. And sometime I get bored to see combo of tiny hour & minute hands, orange numbers. So I intend to swap to new 3-6-9 silver dial with lum hands but I like to hear your ideas. I rotate the Airking with my Explorer 114270 as well as GMT 116710BLNR

I never advocate changing a watch like that but as long as you keep the original parts, no harm done

Timeless Treasure

Hi.

This is my Air-King 1987.

You might not believe me but I am gonna get rid of this
so I can give my wife an eternity ring for our anniversary. HONEST !

I wore it at first for a couple of years and couple of times more when I
got dressed up and then it sat in the closet for the last 24 years.
again HONEST ABE !

I saw in the General Forum a place called Bob's and several others that
I contacted to learn more about the watch.

Boy was I surprised to see that the outer box, case, tags and a rolex brochure could sell for a few hundred dollars too.

in the meanwhile I am really enjoying TRF.

ps.....Also have to say I saw in the forum a picture of a Rolex next to a Ferrari emblem -- thought that was great ! I have to take one of my Rolex
on the hood of my 1999 Jeep Wrangler which reminds me that I need to fix my center brake light.

Upon closer inspection, it NEEDS a new crystal before you wear it again

What you see is really glare or a reflection

I don't wear it anymore but I think I can probably trade it for the eternity ring.

That will make my wife really happy and surprised... more than me keeping it.

I am enjoying the Rolex Forum !

GOOD ONE

It's time for me to find it a new home that will appreciate more than I have

I still want to surprise her with the ring.

For Now. The Air-King is mine until that inevitable day when it goes......

that's all folks !

pics of Airking at Niagara Falls, Canada

I didn t select the good pics but just post all.
Left other watches home and the Airking made the trip as it is the most comfortable of my watches.

Here's Mine

Here's my 14000. It's the second Rolex I've owned, and currently the only one I do. Love the history (WWII buff, aspiring Pilot, and War Thunder addict )

Air Kings are so comfy, low key and exude vintage Rolex. I'm drooling over some of these, especially the 5500s!

Will, you are among friends here.

I'm a pilot myself, air traffic controller in my day job. Shoot me a PM sometime and we can talk shop
