43, my grandfather gave me his GMT II before he passed earlier this year. I have been discussing the purchase of a Sub from my AD for a few months, but not sure how long it will take.

35 but...

I see some much younger ages posted. I had to wait until 35 before I could purchase with disposable cash income.
Those of you who purchased young, did you make a foolish purchase and use credit to do so?

I'm not sure if 30 would be considered "young" but I personally pay for big purchases with a rewards credit card, take the two percent back, and auto-pay for the bill in-full every month.

23 but returned my stainless steel Sub Date that I purchased for $3250 bc of buyers remorse. I still regret that decision. Didn’t purchase another Rolex again until 48.

50. Had some extra cash and wanted to do something meaningful. Always been into Omegas and Speedmasters and was on the list for a Ed White when they first came out and when they called that I could pick one up decided that it had too many aspects about it that I didn’t like. Bought a 1861 Speedy instead to complement my old one that has since move to my son - and before even that finally bought a Sea Dweller 16600 which was the one Rolex I always admired.

I was 29 and had just gotten my first year of practice under my belt. Saved all year for it. $8500 for a brand new 116610LN. No wait list. Called Mayors the week before, and they set an appointment. They showed me a blusey, the one I got and a no date sub. Picked the one I liked, paid and left. Easy peasy. This was Nov of 2017.

Wearing it today actually!

Icon20 Need your opinions..

After months of waiting, I finally got my brand new Datejust 41 at an authorized dealer in Eugene, OR
$10,500. A few months ago.

It's beautiful, I love it. But there's one issue that is really bothering me.
At the stroke of midnight, tomorrow's date doesn't flip over instantaneously. It's more like 12:05am. Perhaps 12:08

My expectations were for absolute perfection. Is this a big deal? What do you guys think?

Thanks!
Doug, Oregon

Bought a submariner date stainless black dial and a 2 tone Daytona black dial together.

I traded both of them for other watches. I recently reacquired another sub date (41mm this time) after realizing what a great watch it is.

White dial 116500ln Daytona.
Bought it for myself from my AD as a 30th birthday present.

Love it.
