Oh ok thanks ! I heard about a new PC from the jumbo movement... But nothing about the Sand Gold.
And a few releases this year before the "big" releases during winter. |

I was talking about the potential of a new QP movement without pusher correctors and my SA just smiled and quietly said, "I'm in the right ball park"

The collection is in desperate need of mid level complications. It's either chrono or jump to PC which is a crazy ask especially with what AP is pricing their PCs at.

Please elaborate. Heard to the contrary.

I would do that too. Would be nice to have a salmon or blue Petite Tapisserie dial & bathtub hands/markers with a DT comp in a code 11 case for less than $30k

I agree that would be nice, but it would also mark quite the change in AP's pricing strategy.

Joking aside, you do have a point. VC Overseas dual-time is right between the $25k time-only and $36k chrono. So $30k for a Code steel dual-time (or $33k for a RO) would not be unreasonable. Still suspect AP would find a way to extract a premium.

We have been told over and over that an automatic in-house chrono is one of the most difficult movements to develope…and one of the last done by AP. Shouldn’t it be more expensive then a DT?

although i do agree an in house chrono is a highlight, clearly the 4401 was rushed for the launch of 11.59 for francois's final hoorah at the helm. the issues with the subdial running and even continued failures after 1 and even 2 services fixing a "spring" and interviews he wanted to to release a in house chrono from the prior modular one lead me to believe so.
i would not want to own an in house dual time at initial launch. if its anything like the 4401, i suspect it will have issues too. |

Everything you said about the chrono might be true, but from my understanding, a dual time movement is only marginally more complicated than a normal 3 hander. I personally wouldn’t extrapolate the chrono issues and assume future DT releases would face a similar fate, but that’s just me. Really depends on pricing and if the DT price sits below the midpoint of 3 handers and chrono for each collection/metal, which I think it should |

Agreed, low 30s is all I would want to pay for a steel DT. Mid-High 30s (basically $40k after sales tax / VAT) just sounds like too much….obviously I will change my mind if it comes out at $45k…I’ll probably want it anyway lol |

Do you have any details as to whether it’s on the Royal Oak in particular or other models?

Influential Swiss Business Monthly BILANZ featured, a, well feature of Ilaria Resta in its latest edition. She wears in the pictures a frosted gold AP bracelet, which seems to be a precursor for a jewelry collection. Here’s what she said about next year’s launch:
“Resta will be launching her first product - "fingers crossed" (Resta) - next year. Does it have anything to do with the bracelet she wears on her wrist with her golden Royal Oak? It is made of "Frosted Gold", a specialty of the house and somewhat finer than the watch strap of the corresponding model, an AP without a timepiece. This is the first question that Resta does not answer. Instead, she lays down another clue: "To mark our 150th anniversary, we're coming up with something that nobody expected." She suggested it in her first week. "It will be a tribute to the beginning of everything." And her first monument.” |

Said in the invite that the released timepiece is "pioneering". Take it at face value... |
