BTW, beautiful watch. Stunning.

Go for it!! PR indication is one of my favorite complications

So if you want an Odysseus at retail prices, you will have to pay up big on the front end through AD purchase history. Or, you can buy the lower priced models used at substantially deep discounts to retail, but pay up the nose for said Odysseus on the secondary markets.

I'm not sure financially if any of that evens out.

I think it really depends on which model or models you really see yourself getting down the road. I have been offered my AD an Odysseus several times in the past couple of years and each time I passed because the terms didn’t make sense to me. I’m not sure if things have changed but the wait was aprox 3 years but Lange always over estimates that wasn’t the issue, the issue for me was they wouldn’t take my deposit to lock in the price. In this case an Odysseus if I really wanted it would make more sense to buy it preowned.

Just out of curiosity, how are the anniversary models different from the "standard" models? Especially with the black dial variant, it's hard to tell from the pictures if there is anything unique or special about this version.

Not a criticism, just curious.

I read somewhere that the first 30 pieces in each set are being offered as a set. The Black dial does look sharp but yea nothing overly outstanding about the design to make it a 30th anniversary. I’m holding off for now as this was a recent pickup

I put a deposit down on the 38.5 platinum model. The uniqueness I'm aware of is the black onyx dial and the date window with black background. And it's limited to 300 pieces. I don't think this dial look (black on black) has been done on the standard Lange 1 since the popular "Darth" version.

I have a few Langes but was missing a platinum piece, so this is a nice way to broaden the lineup. Also happy the pricing is at the same level as the regular production platinum Lange 1.

Agree I think only difference are dial and date window colors. If I didn’t already have a Lange 1 (wg/argente dial), I would put my name down for the platinum/onyx- looks sharp.

That's beautiful! Just saw one in Newport and a buddy ordered it.

I'll see the two new pieces in person tonight in NYC.

The A. Lange & Söhne Thread - including daily pics...

The new pieces look great, onyx version especially. I was additionally expecting something more limited/special to celebrate 30 years of Lange 1. Perhaps the next lumen?

20th anniversary piece.

A bit underwhelming to be honest. But what are they supposed to do? Hard to mess with an icon

20th anniversary piece.

This is so good. Is it 38.5 or larger? Are you going for the new platty

38.5mm, standard L1 size. Not going for the new onyx piece but I would if I didn’t have this already.

Great event in NYC tonight.

FWIW, the pink gold blue dial looks better in person than it does in pictures. The blue "pops" just the right amount against the pink gold case. While the platinium black dial is beautiful, in my opinion the difference between the onyx and platinum is quite stark.

Kind of the point with black on platinum, no?

Yes, but the glossy look of the black - vs a more muted black on the Dato - makes the contrast even more pronounced. Still absolutely beautiful, just a bit too much for me.

Pretty good I think.
Hard to give a definitive answer as it was in the case under bright lights. Here’s a picture.

I’m actually surprised the Onyx sold out so fast. It’s beautiful but with 300 of them I assumed it would take a little bit longer for them to be all spoken for. Congrats to whoever got one.

I saw them yesterday in Paris. The black Onyx is very deep (very shiny, flawless) and beautiful (impossible to take a good picture of such dial). I handled your enamel L1 Toubrillon when released @Russell996 and I would say the rendering is similar (congratz by the way).

The rose gold surprised me by the very pink hue of the rose gold case (versus Patek's I'm more used to). The blue dial (and strap) has a little drop of green imho (not toally blue). The combo look very nice.

The sizes were very nice (even if being used to bigger cases nowadays, it still "disturbs" a little). Very classy.
