So here is my new, Geneva-fresh 5146G. I spent about a month deciding on the model, taking on all comers, then another month settling on the WG/Slate version. And then, after being sure this was the one for me, honestly, I spent 3 weeks trying to talk myself out it of all together... I didn't do very well on that last part, LOL.

Moments like now remind me how I totally underestimated the quiet joy/pleasure/contentment to be had just through owning a nice watch. As I'm sure you all understand, today I'm feeling fortunate...

More pics will follow but all I can say is that the last time I was this attracted to a face, I married her!
Gorgeous, Excellent Choice, Congrats Jim!!!!

Thanks, Brian and Dan!

I have discovered that this watch has those tool-less spring bars, where one fingernail is all you need. Very cool.

I'm not a fan of artsy, digital photo filters. But when you have a pic that's a total reject, as in overexposed, low contrast and, most of all, not sharp, then IMO all tools are allowed on the table. If you like this kind of thing, then here is a bit of PP eye candy for you...

My understanding is they purposely control production numbers for this and I believe the Aquanaut possibly as well.

Patek wants to make sure it doesn't become to easy to attain, which in turn would ruin the value owning this watch.

Wrist shots 5711G vs 5711R
Shame I am rubbish with taking photos but the Nautilus really looks better than photos on a flat wrist like mine! The dial also looks darker with better lighting!

Plenty around you just have to pay twice retail to get one!! I have been on waiting list for a long time and my chances are slim to none as my AD said but I am willing to wait it out and take my chances.
