Don't like YG.

Don't like fluted bezel.

Don't like jubilee bracelet.

Don't like the fact that I am aging and need the cyclop to make it easier to look at the date.

Don't like how Rolex got me spending 5 figure on a watch multiple times that is less accurate than a $100 Casio.

Never understood how a SS daytona is worth more than a TT model on the gray market.

Daytona stinks. And in no ranked order:

- No date
- What time is it?
- Chronograph's legibility is a JOKE. Can't even steven time my AeroPress for 3 min and 20 secs

The wife has a Daytone - but I don't get the point of owning one - she's just wearing one as jewelry.

I don't like being old enough to enjoy owning a gold Rolex.

I don't like being old enough to pose for a poster wearing a two-tone Rolex (although I don't own one).

I don't like being older than the rest of you (but it beats the alternative).

Modern Rolexes are not tool watches and people shouldn't complain that PCLs and ceramic bezels are too delicate or shiny/flashy. Modern tool watches are G-shocks, dive computers, and the Timex ironman. Rolexes were tool watches decades ago when all watches were mechanical and they made the most functional and robust watches. While they are actually more functional and robust today, they are luxury timepieces and designed as such.

Yeah I don't get this. Especially when people say "Everyone has a Sub and I won't buy one because I like to be different" Now if they truly don't like it that's a different story, but I know someone personally who love the Sub but won't buy it because of that reason

IMHO:
1. The TT Rolex (any) is the optimum Rolex.
2. A 18k Thunderbird Bezel would make my TT DJII a perfect watch.

You forgot, for me, the MOST compelling reason why I don't like the Daytona. Why wear a watch that looks like a-n-y o-t-h-e-r chronograph from any other brand??????? A Timex or Seiko or Rolex or Audemars Piguet chronograph looks the same!!!!!!!!!!! The busier a dial with sub dials, the more it looks any other chronograph from ANY brand. With a few exceptions, chronographs BLEND into the crowd; busy dials with sub dials from
Any brand always blur/ blend into the crowd.

Sub, sea dweller & deepsea all look identically the same. One is just smaller or bigger or thicker than the other. Rolex has no imagination to their diving watch.

1) Rolex putting pink dials and everose gold together should have been a no go.

Some pink dials look very cool toned pink and the everrose gold metal looks more warm toned copper. Not a good look together, it's like wearing an orange and pink watch

2) Ready for ladies watches to return to ladies sizes. Tired of seeing watch dials nearly the span of ones entire wrist. Just hate a skinny wrist with a super sized loose watch that looks like it was borrowed from Grandpa. That's just my unpopular opinion.
Of course a mans watch looks great on some women, but that doesn't mean it will look great on every woman.

Seriously, you could add GMT Master II and Explorer II to the list. Pretty much all have the same dial and handset. Just different bezels and in the case of the GMT/Explorer II add a 24 hour hand.

Sub=Sea Dweller=GMTMasterII=ExplorerII. Basically one watch to rule them all.

You could pretty much also say...

DateJust=DayDate=SkyDweller=OysterPerpetual= Milgauss - bascially all the same model.

AD's that play god with who they think is worthy enough to get on lists and get the telephone call to say the watch is here (similar to door staff at popular bars, not tonight son),and before you leave let me de-sticker it for you
Found a sticker after about a week on my dssd that had been missed ,like bubble wrap but so much more satisfying .small victory I know lol

I think very few people have ever seen a Rolex and fewer yet could recognize one in the wild.

Yup!

A bit like Apple these days. iPhone 5 = 6 = 7 =16gb = 32gb = 64gb =128gb

They even do similar colours ... Hmmm...

Very few people have ever seen a Rolex?

Rolex produces around 1 million watches per year.

Maybe true in Arkansas...Down here in the most vein place on earth, I've owned one for less than a week and I've gotten multiple comments...then again mine is bright green.

Think the all Green and Blue (dial and bezel) Subs look like they are fake.
Like made up colours you see a lot with those ridiculous replica subs.
Sorry guys ;)

Damn, that was a good one. Succinct and very on-point.

Not sure how long this thread will live, but I wanted to add one more:

There is nothing more tacky and gauche than posting a picture of your Rolex-adorned wrist with a steering wheel of a fancy car (BMW, Porsche, M-B, etc) in the background. Even worse - and bizarre - are the pictures posted by men with their watch laying across a crazy expensive leather bag. Really, guys? Rolex owners aren't already seen as d-bags by enough people on the planet that you have to go and make it even worse?

Not everyone in the world owns a Submariner and nor do they instantly recognise that one is a Rolex.

Other brands make great watches.

The Daytona does not need a date.

Bigger isn't necessarily better.

Gonna have to agree with your whole statement here. I mean, I roll pretty hard in a mint condish 2015 Honda Accord Sport model, but you don't see me bragging about it.

Here in the Seattle area (Hi-Tech company) I go months without seeing a Rolex. I am always on the lookout for people wearing watches - if and when someone is actually wearing a watch - 99% of the time they are wearing some sort of smart watch. We have Rolex AD's in the area, I have no idea who they are selling them too.

The default status symbol here is your car and your house. It's always interesting to see someone get out of a Audi/MB/BMW/Porsche/Range Rover/Tesla wearing a ratty old t-shirt, shorts, tube socks and sandles.

I wish the DSSD had a cyclops (one of the big reasons I started buying Rolex is that it is one of the few mechanical watches that I can see the date)

I love seeing the tools showing pics of the watch next to fancy car steering wheel. Just once show me a Rolex inside a 75 Ford Maverick.
