In 1987, the correct oyster would have been a 78350 with 557 end links. Some AKs came from the factory with Jubilee bracelets, but in far fewer numbers. It would be nearly impossible to verify today anyway.

A riveted oyster on a 1987 5700 is definately a later addition

Joe kindly informs me that in order for my 1986 Air-King-Date to be original I need to change the bracelet. So if anyone is interested in a 7205 riveted bracelet (1969) in exchange for a 78350 please do let me know.

Interesting. I noticed Rolex mentions the red grape dial being available on all size OPs. Have you seen any pics of a red grape 114200?

I haven't no. It'll be in the 2015-2016 master that comes out in septemberish. I see why rolex dropped the AK name now. Streamlined the OP line. Let's hope that fantastic and historic name is reintroduced sometime soon.

Cool. Yeah, I bet it will. They're probably just giving us all a couple years to mentally disassociate "34mm OP = Air King" and then reintroduce a beautiful AK at Basel '18.

Let's hope so. They've killed the ToG twice now so I'm not holding out much hope

T Serial Air king

Just got this. Nearly NOS. Still had plastic on parts of the bracelet. +2 after 24 hours. No service history.

Air King Dial without Precision script

That might be it Joe, I saw a '63 advertised with a 1530 non-butterfly movement without the Precision script, I believe the 1520's were first offered about that time and Rolex might have used the dial for a while on both movements.

Cheers,
Rick

That is entirely possible. Rolex advertisements can be tricky because they made them look aesthetically pleasing as opposed to how the watch actually looked. It wouldn't surprise me to see a 1530 with a clean dial.

Here's my 114200. I've had it about a month and am loving it. I have worn a midsize (31 mm) SS/YG Datejust for the last 30 years and thought I would jump up in size as well as acquire a contemporary (3130) movement. I'm the second owner, first sold in 2011, and so far, it is running +/- 1-2 sec/day. I can regulate it to perfect time (per the Watchville app) by placing it face up overnight to gain 1 sec, and place it crown up if I want to lose 1-2 sec. (Yes, I have a touch of OCD) The 34 mm size seems just right for me and I love the understated elegance. I really like having a Rolex on my wrist that likely no one else in the room recognizes. I also like that Rolex has deleted the Air King from the product lineup, which will make it even more unique going forward. I'm pleased to make this my first post here at TRF.

I recently got an Air-King 14000 blue stick dial. I'm considering putting on a blue alligator strap to accentuate the dial even more. Anyone tried this before? Pictures to see how it may look?
