The best way is 4 on the 6 O'clock side and Six on the Twelve...

Or for you, try five on the 6, and 6 on the twelve. The SD4K will sit better and more comfortable on your wrist...

i went 4.5 on 6 and 5 on 12. don't forget the possibility of a half link to get everything perfect.

After two weeks, I can say I don't miss the Sub at all. The matte dial is amazing and it changes depending on the light. To me, it's much more legible in bright light and the white gold markers really pop out from the dial. I truly appreciate the classic proportions and it's perfect on my 6.5 inch wrist. The height is not a factor for me and it fits under my (very slim) dress shirts just fine. I also really like the additional weight, it's extremely solid feeling on the wrist.

I love it. A very happy camper.

I must have missed this thread...I was fortunate to buy mine in September 2014. It's a magnificent watch and a pleasure to own and wear...

So, better late than never, here's mine---

I've already posted here, but more pics never hurt any thread.

Looking at purchasing a SD4000, you have to order MORE links after removing diver extension to get the watch to sit properly on your wrist?

Seems a bit counter productive no?

All depends on your wrist size/shape. I had to get another link after removing the divers extension. I have an 8" wrist. The only watch I never had to get an extra link for is the 116610.

Somehow also missed this thread, but am a happy owner after 3 months of ownership! What a watch... Can't really add anything to the list of praises that hasn't already been discussed. But, coming from a SubC, this is a nice change and less ubiquitous, and wears similarly to the old 5 digit references. No problems with fitted work shirts, feels very balanced, matte dial, no cyclops, glidelock... It's everything I wanted to SubC to be!

There's a chance it will work. You'll have to give it a shot. Worse thing is you get another link. No big deal

Agreed! I am perfectly happy rocking mine with short sleeves (as I did while enjoying coffee on the porch this morning) and long sleeves (like now, at the office). 👍
