But I do have to say I am more cultured in the fine art of coffees and coffee drinks due to this thread.

Is it a horological fashion no no to wear a destro watch on the left wrist? I think it would be very comfortable to have the crown towards your elbow. Just don't want to look like a douche. Well at least because of my watch selection.

I agree that it would be more comfortable. Although now that I wear my watch a bit tighter my crown doesn't contact the back of my hand so it's moot for me.

I doubt anyone would even notice.

From the monochrome review...

Last detail is the caseback, which features a unique production number engraved in large Arabic numerals. Why that? Even if the Tudor Pelagos LHD is not limited in production, it will be a numbered series. This is why all watches will be different, on the caseback at least.

Is this supposed to be like the Marine Nationale watches?

You know what, the more I look at the watch, the cooler it appears to me. I'm digging it more and more. I also think this will be very collectible in the future.

Agree on all accounts. At first I was a little disappointed as I already have a 2 line Pelagos. And no one needs 2 Pelagos. I don't like the 5 lines of text.

Then the more I look at it I think of how I like the red Pelagos, with the roulette date wheel. The color of the lume is cool, albeit artificial. And how many destro models will ever really be out there?? It is numbered, not limited, but I too think it will be collectible.

I wonder where in the product development cycle, s**t like this gets thought up? Yeah, thy are going to sell some but if they just took a look at the endless photoshops of what people really want, or actually draw on their incredible history and do something middle of the bell-curve they would sell tonnes.

Looks at the steel Daytonas, vintage design, steel case, multi-year waiting list. Just imagine if they did a proper Tudor Sub or a Big Block....

While I 1000% agree with you and would drive to the end of the earth for a new Tudor sub or big block I believe (this is just my opinion) that Tudor uses opportunities like this to draw people to the brand and to take chances. They know that they will not sell as many of these as they would a Tudor sub but it fills a niche that is unfilled by any other major manufacturer as far as I know.

Define "collectible."

You can collect anything you want really...key question is will the object be sought after / command a premium. That's my definition of collectible.

What a bummer. Oh well, I guess new stuff is still good, even if it's not what I was hoping for.

My definition is similar. Collectible to me is something that will be sought after and has the potential to grow in value over a long period of time. There will be people out there flipping these at a premium. That is not collectible to me, that is hysteria.

But as I have a soft spot for Tudor anyhow having one that is really different and though not limited, numbered, is appealing to me. But that is emotion not logic.

And I was one of the first to poo poo the Pelagos talk as not what I wanted.

Destroy means left handed --- the crown on the opposite side that it usually is on (crown on 9 o'clock side)

It means right or right hand

I have to be honest...I like it. I wasn't expecting much more.

Are you sure? 4770 canadian? That's almost a bargain. I was thinking of picking up a BBB... this is tempting.

Plus, the Red Pelagos marking is pretty sure to be an attempt from Tudor to match Rolex's Red Submarine (now highly collectible).

Well...I can't argue with emotion. If the watch speaks to you and you'd have fun wearing / owning it, by all means.

Not a colossal Tudor fan myself, but I'm with the folks who wanted a classic Blue Snowflake with in-house movement / original size...That would be a treat to see.
