Daytona is ugly. Paul Newman is much uglier (I meant the watch, not the cool guy).

For it worth, JLC/Zenith in-house chrono seem much more interesting.

The asymmetrical lugs on the SS Daytonas look dumb.

I don't like incoming threads (specially on DaytonaC lately) with a picture of the watch (still with stickers) in a coffin nor a wrist shot of the watch still with stickers on. I smell something fishy or should I say $$,$$$.

also ...

I don't like threads with the sole purpose of hyping their discontinued watch - on how perfect it is and it is going up in value.

I just cannot love BLNR no matter how I tried to look from the pictures or in person back then in AD

SS bezel daytona looks more classy and vintage

also, SD4K wears more comfortably than SubC on my wrist despite its top heavy

When I see the word "YachtMaster" my brain conjures a female South Boston accent three octaves higher than my voice and slightly more shrill, that shatters glass when it says Yawt-Myasta.

The best Rolex case-bracelet EVER was the Oysterquartz.

I need sunglasses to look at new Rolexes at an AD. The bling is blinding.

99% of Daytona owners never use the Chrono. Suckers.

The Day-Date is underrated. The Oysterquartz Day-Date is WAY underrated.

That is all.

The 36mm Day-Date and Datejust are wildly underrated and certainly not too small!

The DJ2/DD2 are possibly the worst designed watches Rolex has ever made.

I can't for the life of me understand who decided that a NATO strap was actually attractive.

The Submariner is the perfect Rolex and all the others we wind up buying are actually unnecessary. Deep down we all know this but pretend we don't because a one-and-done collection doesn't justify a hobby.

A Tudor is not a Rolex and shouldn't be treated like one.

Unless you are a professional rugby player or wrestler, 36-39mm is big enough for your wrist.

PS I now do not own the Explorer 2 that is in my information.

Tool shots of watches that will never be in a close proximity to tools in real life.

OMG I got another mass produced Rolex!

The only Rolex I like is the one I bought the OP39.

The Sub is just ugly.

I like jubilee bracelets.

The new SD is awful. The cyclops ruins its as does the 43mm.

The Sub Dweller is a fine Sub XL. Terrible SD though.

I love the engineering behind the skydweller and the ymII but HATE the appearance of either. I think a 2 line no date submariner is probably the best one watch a guy can own. I dislike anything two tone unless it has a blue dial (Don't ask me why, it's just how I see it.) Rolex is great but not the best and certainly not the best bang for the buck. That said Omega is a better bang for the buck when bought used especially but offers WAY too many "limited" models.

To know the future is to be trapped by it

Oh and making new watches look vintage is as crazy as selling a pair of fake dirty jeans for $425

Be advised that some of us commute to work by car for two hours or more each day, five days a week. Between the responsibilities on the job and the responsibilities of the kids when we get home, just about the only free moments we get to take a quick photo of our watches are when we are in bumper to bumper traffic and behind the wheel.

So what you may see as a deliberately braggadocios and staged pairing of Rolex and BMW is actually just our boring daily commute, no different than you snapping a photo on the bus. Check the time and the speedometer on my photo above. Just thought a clarification was warranted.

You may be right. What's interesting though is most of those "commuters" that post those types of pics (during their 2 hour commute) drive a BMW or Mercedes. For once I'd like to see a Rolex with the steering wheel of teal 2000 Chevy Cavalier.

Rolex doesn't make any beautiful watches. They are all a bit ugly in some way. The cyclops is inelegant, and the new bigger lugs are cumbersome. I think it is deliberate. The more expensive they are the more inelegant they get: oyster perpetual (no cyclops and well proportioned) - yacht master II (complete car crash for the rich to show off) - platinum Daytona (potentially beautiful, but BROWN?) - Gems on every surface....

The blue of the BLNR is nasty and spoils the watch. Calling it a batman or any other silly name spoils this forum.
