SS GMTIIC has a green text and 24hour hand.
YG GMTIIC 50th anniversary has a green dial option and the black dial had the green text, 24hour hand (i think) and green date wheel. And I'm hoping (!!!!) an anniversary Daytona will have some sort of green on it. That would be the one for me...... me thinks ;-) |

Think I might say Ditto. But, I actually think both are very nice and either look is great. The black is slightly more of a classic look but then, the green romans may be less common in the long run. You have a tough choice to make. But, you can't go wrong because both are gorgeous.

I LOVE the roman's but I need a lume to tell me the REAL time when I wake up in the night. (Long Boring story but three clocks in my bedroom all set varying degrees fast & only my WATCH is real-time!!) & my youngest just bought an i-pod "touch?"..... how cool ARE those things!!!!!

Oyster bracelet on a Datejust? Not on my watch. Much prefer the Jubilee.

I prefer the black, but you asked which is the most "striking," and that is the Roman. It's pretty wild-looking, and different than most other Rolex dials, plus it has the distinct "lop-sided" 9-marker.

JJ's pic of the TT/black/arabic is a stunning combo, maybe my next Rolex. Anyone know what Canadian list is on that model?

WOW, thanks TRF for your replies.
My slant was towards the black arabic until I saw both in these pictures: Isn't the illuminated green roman numerals absolutely stunning?

In this case, black arabic dial. I would definitely go for the green, though, if there was not that single white marker at 9 o'clock. I realize the reason is to balance out the dial, with the date window at 3 o'clock, but it just looks wrong to me. The black arabic, with the number at 9 o'clock just looks a lot sharper to me. Why, oh why, did they decide on the white marker on the other one instead of a roman numeral!
I know...."Relax, it's only a white marker!" Cheers, Carl

I have not seen either in person. Both look great in the picture and I can see why it's hard for you.
I vote for arabic in this case.

The only thing I dont like about those two is the single stick of lume.It just looks lost in the dial IMHO. Otherwise ROCK ON! :)

Really like both, and I would have to see them in person to make an absolute decision . . . however, the one that struck me from the release and the one I considered purchasing was the green Roman. I think it is fantastic.

The impression I get when I view the black arabic is "elegance," like it's telling me to wear me when you're in your Armani suit. The green roman tells me I can have her in all occasions. Do you feel the same?

It would be the Black i think, but i would like to see them side by side or on my wrist to make a final decision as both are nice. I still prefer the DJ2 with plain baton white/ivory dial with the WG bezel as i dont like the look of the numerals upside down in either Roman or Arabic, but thats just me.Whatever you get will be nice.
