I've had 6 or more...never a problem.

My brother has 2...no problems.

My wife has 1...no problems.

My only problems are the ones I don't have.

The only issue i had was that the lume bubbled on one of the markers...took it to RSC and they replaced the dial pronto with great service to go along with it.
I guess if you manufacture as many watches as rolex do surely there is bound to be a few problems but as a percentage these are miniscule.

Dust inside the crystal of an explorer, had to have it service it twice under warranty to get it clean. Now sold.

My current S/S Daytona 116520 chrono seconds hand does not re-align/reset to the 12 position. Tried to fix it 3 times under warranty at RSC London, gave up in the end and now just live with it.

Thanks to everyone who answered my poll so far, it's very informative (to me and to everyone). I'm glad to see that leaks are the smallest problem, since that's what I'm most paranoid about (I seem to be jinxed with leaking watches).

2 mid '80's models with rotor axel issues - in all fairness, I doubt they had ever been properly serviced, so 25 years+ until un-oiled failure = pretty damned good.

Try that with your car...

5 Rolexes bought BNIB from Rolex AD. One of them had a speck of dust under the crystal when bought BNIB. Had RSC clean it up.

I dropped the Sub 3 foot onto my bathroom marble floor. Huge dent, but kept on ticking as though nothing happened.

All kept within COSC specs (including the non-COSC Sub). Cheers,

no serious, bodacious problems....I have 3 Rolexes, all bought new. They were first serviced after 15 years, just a regular service to get everything moving like new. After 20 years I had the crown replaced on one watch. Nothing else fell off or malfunctioned badly on any of my Rolexes. My biggest expense was a big cosmetic renovation(& while they were being renovated they were serviced).....after 30-31 years. They're pretty sturdy for a "luxury" item.
