Yeah Man !
I really want that watch ! It would go rally well with the T-shirt I always
wear on my travels in The U.S.A. The slogan reads I AM A STONER FROM SCOTLAND...OF COURSE I'M CARRYING DRUGS...LEAVE ME ALONE FUZZ ! I've made soooooo many friends among the Police Officers in various states I've visited and , y'know what...they always take me back to the station to meet their friends....Such fun ! |

All type a cannabis products are softdrugs Synthetical, cocaine and opium variants are harddrugs We don't have crystal meth or crack, ofcourse there are junkies but most of them use in ammonia cooked cocaine. I guess this modification has been done with a sense of frivolity in mind....
Given that it is only the dial and hands (which are gold and wrong for a SS watch) it would be a fairly easy task to reverse and restore to a regular dial and hands. It is interesting how this dial could have been painted like that, I wonder how that was done as it looks like it was quite a skillful application in creating that marijuana leaf. Not something I would personally wear, but interesting as a point of discussion Are you sure your friend didn't buy this watch in Amsterdam rather than Paris

Looks like a Sativa strain and would definitely be a conversation piece, irrespective of your position/opinon on the use of marijuana.
It's not for me - the watch that is!

Folks, thank you for the diverse range of responses and all-too-funny and candid comments! I find the watch to be a nice conversation piece but, like most of you, I don’t think I could ever wear it much less dish out hard earned money for it. Now if a friend were to offer it to me as a gift I would, of course, gladly accept and give it a nice place in my humble collection tucked away in a safe.
I’m just really wondering what the story is behind the watch. My friend said the guy at the Paris Antique Shop (definitely not Amsterdam Stevo but I’m sure this piece would be hot over there!) did not know its history at all. Was this watch owned by some rock star like Jimmy Hendrix or could this have belonged to Jim Morrison once upon a time? It did end up in Paris after all. We may never know the story behind this watch. I’m happy that my friend found something he likes and that it is a Rolex. He can write his own story of this interesting time piece moving forward. As for me, all I know is I love all things that are Rolex … even this piece that I call the Marijuana OysterDate. |
