IWC hands down.
If you buy based on design and which one speaks to you... either one.

If you compare based on quality, history and pedigree, IWC is in a completely different league than Hublot.

Sounds like the IWC holds its value better than the "you-blow" from his info.

Personally...skip the YouBlow. Fun watches at best. They always seemed way too gimicky. You wont be sorry with an IWC. Loved mine every minute I had it.

I like the Hublot. I want a chrono really bad though so it could just be that...

Dimitri, the AD didn't have the white one for me to look at. Does it look as good as the black?

Hublot, definitely. I haven't owned an IWC (yet ) though. Hublot are wonderful watches and Jean-Claude Biver is a true gentleman!

Between those two, I would pick the IWC. I like many of the Big Bangs, however, and intend to get one. I've owned 5 IWCs.

It lacks the full contrast of the yellow but I think it looks great. I'm partial to white-dialed watches though.

Not my pic:

Mark,

I bet this thread didn't help at all! These brands are so different that it is hard to choose one. In the perfect world, I'd own them both. However - since that isn't an option - in my opinion you won't go wrong with either. Bangs do seem gimmicky to some - until you actually handle one. Solid construction, easy to read (for the most part), cool cases. IWC - in-house movements for the most part, deep heritage... Both have redeeming qualities, IMO. Just post pics once you get either one!

Even better, get the unusual white-and-orange Aquatimer.

However, I believe it's available only in IWC boutiques, so you probably won't get as good a deal.

I'm also looking at the BP! I have a feeling this is going to be a classic watch soon.

Hi Mark, I would go for the Hublot ........ love that blue dial. Also, it seems like the price is right!

Out of those two I'd go for the IWC.

However, if the Hublot of choice would have been a Big Bang, then don't let the door hit you on the way out IWC!

IWC. The fact that I've got three (3717 Pilot, 3227 Ing, 3548 AT) with a 5001-07 Port Auto on the way has no bearing on it of course.

Hows the 3227? I've been looking at one as a beater (well as beater as a watch that expensive can be) as they're so durable. (made to be indestructible)

Is it top-heavy or too heavy at all? The water resistance is 120m correct? The movement is in-house as in the newer (but much larger) Mission Earth?

Thanks in ahead, and sorry for all the questions, I'm quite curious about the watch!

i like IWC and already have a Top Gun and Big Pilot. Both are very comfortable, the movements are accurate, and I like the readability. Nothing however, beats a Daytona.
