I really want to buy another Rolex but....
I am having the hardest time buying another 40mm watch. Recently it feels like my brain has been fried with all the women I am seeing wearing 40mm watches. All of my wife's friends wear watches in the 38-40mm range, and here I am wearing the same sized watch and I am about 100 pounds heavier than them. I recently got a comment on my pepsi GMT from a lady in a store then she proceeded to tell me she wears the same watch, it was actually embarrassed a bit. My local AD said they can't give away the women sized watches, women are buying up the 40mm sport watches these days. 10-20 years ago men wore more yellow gold, now ss rules the men's watch world. I am starting to think that in 10-20 years, 40mm watches will be the norm for women.
What do you guys and gals think? I seriously was going to pull the trigger on another Rolex, but now I am finding it hard to buy a mid-sized watch, and yes, 40mm is mid sized these days. I am holding off for the new sub, I think the super case gives the illusion of a wider case. That feels like it is my only hope for another Rolex, why couldn't they go a little bigger and keep up with the times? The funny thing is, I am a old school kinda guy, I fight change and love the classic Rolex sport models. I am curious to hear other members thoughts on this subject, I can't be the only one feeling this way. Here I am with money in hand, and can't bring myself to buy a watch from the brand that has always been my #1. I have never been the kind of guy to follow trends, but my last purchase was a 46mm dive watch from another well known brand, and my wife said it is the best looking watch I have ever owned or currently own.
