Inevitable controversy!! GMT IIC cooler than Sub C!

Bezel finished in green/black on the gmt would be awsome.

I prefer the look of the sub c but the functionality of the gmt

But if the gmt c was a pepsi ........ Well that's a totally different thing

Used to adore the GMTIIC from afar, up until I saw & tried on my friend's. Now I hope to get a SubC when all the excitement has quiet down. I am still in love with my GMT Pepsi, though.

I was thinking the same as you- until I saw the Sub C in flesh!

I like the vintage style, too, but IMHO Rolex had to do something to modernize their models....and I think they made the best without loosing the classic look of a Rolex-well done!

Look at it, and I am pretty sure you will change your mind.

BTW, if you go back in Rolex history to the 30's and 40's, I think they had similar squared casings on their famous bubble back models....didn't they?

Anyhow, I am happy with my new Sub, Rolex has made a masterpiece which is contemporary modern and classic at the same time.

I think the new SS SubC is definitely cool. SS GMTIIC, however, is the perfect watch. I'd like to own them both, but since I am a single watch guy, I go with the GMTIIC.

Had the ceramic gmt for 6 months and also played with the ceramic black and green subs for one hour today at my AD

Both look ugly to my eyes. Remind me of zodiacs

GMT-Master IIC is clearly superior. The added functionality of the 24-hour hand really makes this a no brainer.

Obviously, the Submariner is a glorious watch as well, AND the glide-lock clasp, the larger crown, are awesome.

I'll take both please.

One is a divers watch and the other is very useful for travel or to track another time zone. I have both a sub LV and a GMT IIc. Each does what it was made to do in a way that makes them classics.

The GMT II is a beautiful watch. It is much more interesting than the sub with the fourth hour hand. However, I find the bezel is just dumb as a carryover from the original GMT before the hour hand could be changed independently from the 24 hour hand. The bezel looks very cool, but what is its function, like we really need to monitor a third time zone? I understand it can be used a pseudo timer like a sub… please no hate mail. A fixed bezel like the Exp II just makes much more sense. Also, not a fan of polished links, and it would hurt me to brush the links as it just seems well….wrong……yet right…wrong, right. You see, I would be conflicted. These are minor problems, and with that beauty I can see past these minor quibbles. Like the saying goes, I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

As for the Sub C. I’m reserving my opinion until I see one in the flesh; however, it should be the nicest sub……ever.

Both are indeed great watches but sub c price is much more expensive than gmt ii c. Functionality gmt ii c has more. Got my gmt ii c and sub date so won't be thinking about sub c for a many while I guess.

Sub C is not "much more" expensive than gmt ii c, they are very close - $7250 vs $7000 in MSRP.

Im partial to the GMT.However they both look wicked, and .............kinda similar.Bet my wife wouldnt know an better if I went out and bought the new sub, I could just pass it off as "Oh I've had this one for a while, Hun" watches.....muahaha.
