I know it is not the dates already posted , but if anyone is up for a later in the year GTG, I hopefully be in London in md- late Sept/ early Oct. My plan is to go to Oktoberfest '11, but Ill pass through London to chk on property/see in-laws

For your train journey, try Southampton to Waterloo station.

Definitely pre-book, so you can reserve your seat/discounted ticket.

Once in Waterloo, you can get an all day travel pass for the tube (ermm, subway).

In principle, yes indeed. I am 2 hours away but I can combine a trip to the big smoke with some vists to friends etc.

Tilbury Port's TEN minutes away from where I work!!

(trust me Tilbury's a REAL sh*thole & NOT somewhere worth hanging about to do any sightseeing!!)
