So it's looking like the Sub C is getting the most +ive comments :)

Thanks everybody for the feedback though, it's all very helpful. I'll be keeping the SDDS no matter what but for now the Sub C is getting most wrist time!

Maybe I should wear both, one on each wrist :) In fact I must confess I have already tried, interestingly my right wrist must be much bigger than my left as I had to loosen the glidelock by at least two clicks to get it to do up, you learn something new every day!

Is it just me, or the bezel of the Sub-C is less shiny than the bezel of the DSSD? I think the more reflective crystal on the DSSD is due to the much thicker crystal, so it's expected. Is there a difference in the ceramic material used on those watches?

As for the "battle", I reckon the Sub-C looks best on your wrist. IMHO the DSSD is too thick, it doesn't look actually nice on anything but very thick wrists.

I'm going through this right now. I just got the Sub C and just can't get used to the size after wearing the DSSD and numberous PAMs. : /

Sub C for sure. My wrists are a little bigger than yours and even though I can pull off the SDDS like yourself, I think the Sub C looks better and is more versatile. My 14060M looks fine on me and it is not as thick as the Sub C even. You will get used to the Sub.

I don't understand how anyone can look at this image and say that is the correct proportions of a gentleman's watch? It is almost 2 bleeding centimeters thick!!!

I had zero issue with the 44mm case size on this one, but the thickness is just redonkulous (weight doesn't help)!

Sure, it works when are standing in your board shorts prepping your tubes or off the Keys deepsea fishing, but in a city/office environment that just looks way off IMO!

Yes, as others have suggested- the SubC for dressy event or business casual wear and the DS for Aloha Fridays, happy hour, bars with poles, hangin' with the boys, etc.... I am a DS guy, obviously.

For some strange reason, if I was to buy the DSSD, then I feel as if I have to have tried scuba-diving once at least, or get a boat or something. I know it's silly, but just have the feeling as if i can't justify wearing it..
The SubC looks of course very nice as well.
Wasn't there a person a while back all giddy over his DSSD on a 6.5" wrist and the gentleman in question admitted to not even being able to swim?! Whatever floats your boat, of course, but that is not how I roll...

In all honesty both look great! If I had to choose I'd say the Sub C - but that might be my bias towards that watch. Either way looking great!

Now now, who is to say what is a good look (gentleman's watch) for city or office? That sounds like the old Blackberry for business and iPhone for home mantra. The thickness isn't really as pronounced as it looks in that photo.

I think either watch looks fantastic, and variety is important. I'd wear my Deepsea with Armani or Boss - no problem. Black-tie? The DS works with that too.

In talking about fashion choices, I do confess that I abhor any sort of pleated pants!

"Normal surface air filled watch cases and crystals designed for extreme depths must be dimensionally large to cope with the encountered water pressure. To obtain its water resistance the Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA watch case has a diameter of 43.0 mm, thickness of 17.7 mm (domed crystal thickness 5.5 mm) and the case and bracelet weigh 220 g."

Try a traditional Submariner as well,
and go with what feels and looks
right for you.

Sub C because it's great and the DSSD looks ridiculously big and thick on any wrist.

Anyone else notice how prominant the Rolex logo is on the Sub C clasp?

Your wrist/arm is big enough to wear either of them.

I've seen a DSSD on a 6" wrist and it does look quite interesting.

The DSSD is a better watch, technically. Surely there can't be an argument about that?

Between the two, the DSSD looks better on your wrist......and a better watch.
