As mentioned in an earlier post, AP makes a Titanium Royal Oak Offshore.
I really like the weight of the watch. Considering it is a fairly large watch, the fact that it's Ti makes it very comfortable. |

nice watches...thanks for the photos, guys.
But I have to admit, none of them are as satisfying to me as the case (and bracelet) designs of Rolex watches. What about Swatch? Does Swatch make a mechanical Titanium watch? Dan |

I have this Omega SMP Chrono that is Titanium, Tantalum and 18K Rose Gold. It wears very light and I absolutely LOVE it.
I also have this Ball Engineer Master II Chronometer Diver in Titanium that I also love. It does not wear as light as my SMP Chrono for some reason. Still a very nice watch. |

Beautiful Omega chrono there. Generally though it's the dull grey colour of Ti that puts me off. Rather have something that looks good and hang the extra few grams.

would you pay $8k+ for a watch so light in weight that you wouldnt even notice you were wearing it?
That's why there is no titanium Rolex. |

I love my Breitling Aerospace Avantage, I use that as my sports watch due to it's light weight. I would like to see a Ti GMT II C from Rolex - it would definitely have more 'geek' factor for us pilots compared to the SS version.

My PAM 320 is heavy and I like it. Some of the Panerai Titanium models are very nice and look good but I wouldnt buy a PAM for its lightness (Although some of the Cermaic models catch my fancy).
I dont think Id like to see Rolex do a Titanium model. If you want a light watch go for a Richard Mille (Price tag is a lot) but they are light from all reviews Ive read. |

I had a Breitling Chrono Avenger Ti. Really nice watch and not heavy for its size. 44 x 17mm (Deepsea ? ) I did pick up a few dings and scratches but 5 minutes with a scotchbrite and it was good as new. It also had a really nice sheen to it in the right light. Only sold it because of its door frame magnetism.
So yes I like Titanium and it seems that Rolex is one of few that dont use it for their watch cases.

Too light, feels like a plastic Casio.
I agree with the idea of using Tungsten or maybe even Osmium, (the densest metal). Now that would have 'heft'!

Problem is I'm preferring the overall heft and substance of my new DSSD over the titanium, as it's now my daily wearer - no exception. So go figure. Must be the overall chic and coolness of the DSSD, I don't know. BEST REGARDS |

I LOVE titanium watches. Have had a titanium Tissot sport watch for almost 15 years which I wear for all outdoor sport activities- skiing, fishing, camping, etc. I have no idea it's on my wrist until I want to know the time and look down at it.
What is this obsession with heavy watches?? It seems completely backward and misguided, particularly with the current popularity of 42+mm case sizes. I've got an 8 inch wrist and am looking seriously at replacing my GMT Master II Pepsi with a 42mm-45mm Panerai or IWC - BUT ONLY THE TITANIUM models. I want a watch to disapear on my wrist, not constantly make it's presence known. I also find the color tone and brushed finish of Titanium more pleasing than SS- 904L or otherwise. |

I think the weight determines how solid a watch feel. I remember AP using too much carbon and their customers complained about the weight of the watch. They said it felt cheap. I think this is the case with Rolex; they don't want their customers to think their watches feel cheap. $.02 |

As a personal preference, I like the weight of the SS. For the exact same dimension, Titanium will be too light for me. I tried the Titanium Omega Seamaster Chrono and didn't like it and bought a SS instead.

Titanium is Strong but BRITTLE. i.e. will crack and shatter if it takes an impact.

I would also, ti is a fantastic metal for watch cases. Pam 176, 10X more comfortable than any Rolex I have ever worn.

I would pay a premium price if Rolex made a tungsten carbide watch. It has a low key luster and and is damn near scratch proof. Also much more hefty in weight compared to stainless steel.

I have many pieces of titanium hiking equipment. I love the weight/strength traits of this metal. It also takes heat like a champ. It has so many applications but it's expensive. I think it is a regulated substance by the government since it has so many military applications. My latest addition is a titanium alcohol stove.

I tried on a Breitling that was Titanium. It was too lite for my likings. It was so lite if felt 'cheap'. I assume that is why Rolex stays away from it.
