Hi Garardus, Good thread as

I have both, but if I have to choose one it would be the Sub. White EII close 2nd, this watch grows on you. These two are a nice combo (black&white)IMO.

Interesting topic. I've been wondering the same thing lately.

Most likely since the subject of the topic draws Explorer fans ... or ... in the WIS world the Ex II is more popular than in the "real world".

I chose the Exp. II and would do it again. The primary reason was noticability: the Exp. is much more of a sleeper and doesn't scream "Rolex." I buy nice watches for me, not those around me, and as a bonus I'm probably less likely to get robbed for this one. There were a few other reasons as well:

The clasp fits my wrist nicer, as the Sub clasp is longer and thicker

I'll use the GMT function more than the elapsed time bezel

The Exp. II has a slightly lower MSRP and I thought I'd find a better discount on it from an AD

The one reason I might have preferred the Sub was the triplock/extra water tightness, but since the Exp has 100m and I don't dive, that didn't outweigh the reasons above.

If the Poll had still been open I would have chosen the Explorer II

I have just agreed a sale on one from a TRF member and really cannot wait

*** That was for me THE reason for selling my sub.
Further on i like the fixed bezel.
