To have the option to change a dial or bracelet without having to go aftermarket. Until my wife surprised me with a DJ II, I wasn't in the market for another one over the fact that a nice dial was not allowed to be purchased. I also wanted to convert my DJ SS oyster bracelet into a SS jubilee.
Those two things led me to buy a Panerai, and lust for some of the Cartier watches.

1. 42 mm sports models
2. 5 year warranty and free 5-year first service, then nominal cost routine servicing thereafter
3. Thicker bracelets that can take more than 7 or 8 full polishings
4. Stronger lume (not a big dealfor me, but it would be nice)
5. Power reserve indicator

Hey, a guy can dream, right?

Yes, I know.

What I can't figure out is why.

To make it cheaper or cleaner looking?

Of course, we're all dreaming here, but the Explorer II was designed for those who are in an environment where light does not provide a clue as to the time of day, as in spelunking or in the Arctic or Antarctic.

Regardless, we can all dream that someday Rolex would actually listen to the wishes of one owner and that we could design our own perfect Rolex without having to modify an original.

Wouldn't that be great?

1. Larger sports models - maybe a few more watches in the 42-43mm range for the larger wristed folks.
2. A stainless steel version of the DJII with a domed bezel.
3. Lower retail prices.

1.) reissue the GMT Coke with SEL.
2.) rip off the outside lume round dot at 0 minute on the Sub bezel.
3.) rip off the 24hr hand, change to 12 hr rotatable bezel instead for Exp II.
4.) change to flat crystal need no cyclops.
5.) lifelong greasing for free.
6.) scratchproof enhance.
7.) power reserve enhance, 4 days to a week.
8.) stop the annual price increment, 3 ~4 years is ok.
9.) still thinking!

I love the way Panerai encourages different strap options....Rolex could learn a thing or two here with their after the sale options. The winder was a nice touch, but worthless when you come down to it. Tudor offered a nato style strap on the heritage, maybe Rolex will learn from that! BTW, I'm not holding my breath!

I think it would look cleaner. For me, the 24-hour hand just makes the dial look too busy. Less is more (in my opinion). I understand what the hand was designed for, but let's face it; how many Rolex sports watches are ever used for what they are intended for?

It would be nice if Rolex offered different options with the watches already in their line up. Making leather or Nato straps available, better lume would be nice and living here in the United states making Tudor watches available would also be very nice!!!

Rolex service policies.....

Rolex should be more willing to service older models.....There are many top watch manufacturers that will service any model you send them regardless of age (Some times at a high cost)....
Rolex makes a watch that can last a life time...It's a shame that they won't service them.....

Chronograph alternatives to the Daytona, like a DJ/DD domed or bling bezel rather than tachymeter and a more sedate less sporty dial on president or jubilee bracelet, or...

Make a Milgauss GV chronograph with orange lightning bolt subdial hands, the big domed bezel and orange concentric ring subdials on a matte dial with green crystal. <-- that's what I want for Xmas.

Sorry... I'm too used to Omega making a chrono version of everything from dress to dive to moon, yet overwhelmed by the coolness of the GV.

Seriously though, there have been dress chronos, and pumper chronos in the past, why just the one now?

Make bigger watches

But keep the Submariner unchanged for the many years to come.

Improve the service quality of RSC

I would remake 16600 with new case, bracelet, Glide Lock, maxi dial and ceramic bezel. That would be my perfect tool watch that I would use during my life.

1. re-release a "classic sub LV" with the new green dial!
2. re-release the GMT Master I (classic case) with a Maxi-dial! (=like the 16750, but with an sapphire crystal)!
3. Make the SS/Plat YM standard with brushed surface
4. SS Day-Date I
