Awww come on..... are you serious ? My GMT iic has nicks and dings all over it, and it still looks great. Watches, especialy Rolex watches were made to be worn.

I would think the first scratch would actually be a relief so you can actually use the watch as intended- wearing it with enjoyment and not apprehension.

If you want it eternally mint you should leave it in the box.

I can't see it, and I've tried. It must be superficial.

I chose to view the photo first without reading the explanation, I couldn't see any mars. Even after reading the story I still see no mars.

Nice watch BTW!

If you are that concerned about "hurting" it, you shouldn't be wearing it. Obviously, no one wants to beat their watch up, but if you are seriously distraught over a (rather insignificant) nick, I would say sell it. Not meant to be rude. If it makes you feel better, that little mark will come out 100% with a light polish. It is a really nice watch, but at the end of the day it's still a watch. Now, once we start talking about historically significant timepieces, it is no longer just a watch. Watches we all wear daily are going to end up with a few nicks here and there. Nice watch, but don't stress over it!

RSC will be able to make your watch brand new when the watch goes in for service. There will be plenty more scratches. Not to worry! Enjoy the watch!

Geez...I do not mean to be rude but that imperfection is way far away from being called a gash. I wouldn't worry to much and as planned have it buffed out at your next service!!!

What I'd like to know is how come a scratch that can barely be noticed goes into a multi-page discussion?

Mine has a few little scratches. Most people can't see them but I can. But at the end of the day it's a watch which is meant to be worn so scratches will happen just wear the watch and enjoy it.

I honestly couldn't see the gash either, and whatever it is, I personally wouldn't call it a gash, much less a serious one.

Slightly off topic - This is why I have resolved never to buy any watch which I intend to wear brand new. Yes, I know I'm cheap ... :p

With a thread title like that, I was expecting very different content

but as others have said. It's very minor, move on.
