Retail is about £8000, I think. It's very reasonable, in my opinion!

I have a soft spot for the Danaos. Resale values stink though.

I hafta admit, I really appreciate the look of the Cellinium platinum with the black dial. It has a purposeful look that makes 99% of other dress watches look a little preshuss in comparison. I have always wanted one, haven't been able to stretch the budget that far yet. One day...

I do wish it had a sapphire back, though.

I'm sorry that you've had hardships in your life, but please don't hold the entire world responsible for it.

Grady, you are a scholar and a gentleman, sir. I have to admit I've learned a lot here, you have wisdom. I shall be seeking help forthwith, (to go with the 27 years of intensive psychotherapy I have already had). There are, of course, a couple of others who exemplified the damage I was writing about by inadvertently revealing the desperate state of their own psyches. But you are a good man. I won't hijack this thread any more than just to say thank you for your wise and gentle counsel.

Only if it were red. And didn't match the hair he did have. Saw a guy like that today.

Not sure what brand of watch he had on. Could have been a Rolex, I suppose.

I'm blonde, and if I had a dollar for every blonde joke I've heard in my life, I could afford to buy a Cellini! (See, technically no hijack!)

Gotta say, that gold Prince is a beauty in my book; just don't "dress" often enough to warrant owning one.

I think dress watches look great with "business casual," like a DJ looks good with jeans and a sweatshirt.

I agree, just that the Prince looks "dressier" to me than just about any other Cellini and way more dressy than other Rolex models.

i love rolex on straps... i just could not justify the price for a cellini, only if they sell it a bit cheaper...

I have 2 38mm Danaos, in YG and WG, and think they are great dress watches.

Nice. I love that WG Danaos. Some decent deals for pre-owned, but resale values stink on those. Me being a flipper, I always look at resale values.

Adam, If you find deals in the $3-4k range you are usually ok with the XL models.

I like the Danaos line....

But I understand they are all manual wind. Why doesnt Rolex put an automatic movement into them or does it?
