ahh, see!!! he shipped the watch and transaction appears finished at there end probably. and then possibly is busy and/or lazy and forgets unless you prompt him. etc. You got the most important part first remember. remember when you get a good deal, sellers will take precautions internationally in case items get linked etc. saves him and you.

Only mildly related....but there is a local guy who takes on memo Rolexes of all kinds from many people in our area. Then he tries to sell them. More often he brings them back though. Unsold. We started noticing that "we thought that had "x" links and now it only has "y"." After it happened many times it became obvious. Later at a watch event, several dealers compared notes and EVERYONE had had this fellow steal one to three links from every watch he took on memo.

Needless to say, "Link" (as he is nicknamed around here) does not get to many Rolexes memoed to him anymore!

This image springs to mind.

A nice little earner though bottom feeding is not a noble pastime.

That emphasizes the importance of a detailed receipt, including the number of links in the bracelet. To the OP, the watch had a certain number of links when you bought it, he agreed to resize it and send you the links. He did not. That's an obvious party foul, regardless of his explanation. If you sell it in a couple years, you may need that link to seal the deal with Mr.Bigwrist, and maximize your asking price. I'm glad it was sorted out. Keeping a link or 2 is not appropriate, "good deal" or not. If I bought a Day-Date from a watch sized for a 10 inch wrist, I would expect all the links that were advertised and in the photos, even though I may never need them.

Hey Jeff,

HA ! Figures he's(Link) a west coaster(I mean FL. west coast) !! It's too slow up here in Indy for anyone to do that.. There was a guy at Rolex that was doing the same for years. Ironically there was also a guy taking boxes out the back door at Rolex. Wonder why all those extra boxes that Doug and others used to sell all dried up. The guy finally got caught.

Come up north some time, Scott B.(Indy)
