How do you push the button? How? Can someone draw me step by step procedure on how this legendary "push the button" works. Until I see it, it's just a myth past down from father to son.

Wow, you are all so serious....

I should have been more specific... when I refered above to complications on the Daytona, which I may have done incorrectly, I wanted to refer to the tachymeter function.

It seems to most owners, the tachymeter scale are just numbers on the bezel, what/how it is used, most have no idea. Very few can tell you what a tachymeter even is

So I am to assume that you know everything about the type of camshaft in your car's engine, the CPU-time scheduler in your computer's operating system, and the differences between the IEEE 802.11a - 802.11n standards for your smartphone's wlan access?

You are assuming that most Daytona owners do not know that it simply and easily tracks speed? If you see me out in the wild feel free to ask, as long as you don't mind getting a Daytona lesson from a woman.

I would be most impressed and appreciative! Clearly my Lady, you get the point of the thread. Daytona owners who know all the functions of their watches and may even use them as designed seem to be in the minority of Daytona owners.

Any interest in giving me that lesson over dinner and a bottle of fine wine?

I cant believe how some of the posters are taking this thread and how hyper sensitive/paranoid they are...the point was the number of Daytona owners who don't know how to use the tachymeter or even what it is for. All most posters seemed to take away was I was trying to put people down...

And they asked you to show them? What kind of arrogance do you have in your naive little head that says they want YOU, unsolicited, to tell them how to use something they bought for private consumption?

Really, what else could anyone conclude? You're certainly not doing it to make them feel better.

Well you say you get enjoyment for calling out strangers in the street on their lack of knowledge or lack of use of the tach or chronos?? While not a direct put-down, its puzzling to say the least. Who cares why someone bought a watch or how they use it or don't use it. I love and appreciate what my Daytona can technically do but I didn't buy it as a tool watch and sure as heck don't use any of its features other than its beauty during my day.

Just compliment them and be on your way - don't put them on the spot for something so trivial.

if you came up to me and ask me that question when I'm wearing my daytona, I would tell you to get one first then I'll explain the simple functions of a chronograph watch.

My first thought when seeing a Daytona is that the person has great taste in watches and I wish I had one.

The OP is obviously bored...he mentioned that he's retired in another controversial thread and must be trying to stay amused by stirring things up.

Guess thats one argument for keeping my day job.
