Purchased in July 2004. Serial is F099XXX. Still have it and love it!

So a flat four "Z" serial 16610LV is most likely a swap?
So a flat four "Z" serial 16610LV is most likely a swap? See below.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Oyster-Per...5#ht_500wt_922 It's really odd because the seller has 100% positive feedback. I guess he unwittingly aquired the frankenwatch and is selling it not knowing there is a problem with the watch (?). I hope this isn't a really RARE varient and by me posting the link, i just lost out on a great find. |

The watch has a circular "o" in Rolex, which would indicate a mark 5 or later with a pointed four, as far as I know. I don't know if I am allowed to post links to other forums here, so I'm taking a chance here (Didn't see any restrictions in the rules..?). Here is an excellent guide to 16610LV: http://www.network54.com/Forum/20759...ary+Submariner |

Hack,
The four on the inside of the number at the top is flat, not just the top of the four. Some are pointed on the inside of the four and the earlier modes have it flat on the inside. Does that make sense? |

Seems a little crazy to me, if something happens and you have to send it to the RSC they are probably gunna put on a newer "4" bezel.
Personally I think the LV with the rolex rehaut engraving to me is more collectable, correct me if I am wrong but didnt they only make that for like 2 years or so? vs the older ones the made for like 4 or so. |
