sorry..

My bracelet is a President and my watch is a Day Date..
If I am wrong here than so is Rolex..

If I had the same watch on a leather band, it would still be a Day Date..

It is what it is..

I love the contrast..

$6000.00 is almost to good to be true for a watch like that assuming it's in good condition and does not have an aftermarket bracelet or is on a leather strap. In fact, 6K for nearly any YG Day-Date (single or double quick, standard, bark, or Tridor) is a very good price if the bracelet is still in relatively good condition and everything else is as it should be.

We get it and all know that the official name of the watch is a "Day-Date"...nevertheless, it is commonly referred to as a "President" or "Prez"
when fitted with the presidential bracelet. Just because you own one doesn't make you the spokesman for what the watch should be referred to by everyone else....sorry I am quite certain and would be willing to make a wager that if two people put that same watch up for sale and one refers to it in the ad as a "Rolex President" and the other refers to his as a "Rolex Day-Date with Presidential Bracelet", the person posting the President ad will get way more responses.

Again, most "non-watch" people have no idea what a "Day-Date" might be but, more often than not, they have heard of a Rolex "President".

Hey one of my friends (who's really into Omega's) looked at my Day-Date / President and said "that's not the President model, there's no diamonds on it"

In The Rolex Report book by John E. Brozek it mentioned late 1990 when Rolex introduced the 'Double Quick Set' feature.

For a Rolex reference 116238 Day-Date with a president band
and all the bells and whistles that come with it..?
... the price is between $9,000 and $12,000

At $6,000 is a great bargain ..but...as with all bargains... CHECK IT OUT AT ROLEX ONLY

The Rolex Report, (page 74)... "First introduced in late 1980s/early 1990s." Have seen examples from 1987, but generally acceptable by 1990.

Do we go around calling a DateJust a Jubilee? No..

I do not know about y'all but that bugs me just as when someone pronounces "Porsche" with only one syllable.
The DD is commonly referred to as the president. I couldn't fit my left nut in a Porsche, so I don't give a damn how anyone pronounces the name of those little cars.

Within that price range, you are even lucky if you can get an excellent condition mid-80's model.
That's my thought, too. A 2003 is probably a $12k to $15k watch.
