It marks the 50th Ann. for the Sub; production lasted 7+ yrs. I don't consider it special.

Not quite true its a coated gold dial and not solid gold It was not solid gold as stated in there press release at Basel. (Surface green gold). And would not be surprised if a few heads were rolled by the statement on Rolex.com before they removed the green gold just to the word green. While the 16610 LV sub had quite a short run for Rolex there sure must be thousands of them around. And all basically the same except for different case stamps and a few different fonts and minor cosmetic details.

My personal opinion on the 116610LV...

Special - not special, but definitely different from the LN version. Definitely unique and amazing looking in person.

Limited production - I personally do think the production levels of the sub C LV are lower then the LN model, but not to the point where it makes it a real limited production model.

It is def not a "special" Rolex by current range/offering.
It has a special place in my heart though

My bad. I thought we were talking about the non-ceramic.

'Special' in the sense that it's the only green dial in the Rolex collection. I would prefer to say it's 'unique'.

Don't forget about the green dial on the 116718 GMTIIC!

It's "special" to me

It might not be a special edition, but it's still pretty special.

The hulk....great watch, great nickname!

It's special in the sense that there isn't a single watch on the planet that looks like it. Black bezel and black dial watches are a dime a dozen in comparison (no knock on the LN....it's a great watch, too, just not the same kind of special, IMHO).
