I hope you're right. It would be great if the Sub-C would lose a date function

No way we'll see a radically different Daytona. It doesn't make commercial sense for Rolex to cannibalise sales of their already most 'in demand' line. New dials maybe but imho the Date-Daytona is gonna come a long way after other updates i.e. the Pepsi GMT2c.

A Daytona with a date would be too much like cheesburger pizza, two good things seperate but when combined......not so great.

It wouldn't be the first time they went bigger. The early Submariners and Daytonas were smaller than they are now.

When I browse the web for vintage Rolex offerings, many of them are smaller than their modern counterparts.

It's just natural progression. Rolex is just a bit more careful with size.

A Daytona the size of the Deep Sea would be a HUGE disappointment. No pun intended!

I'll 2nd that, it may be blasphemy, but I'm not crazy about the new "big" look on any of their watches.

I suspect Rolex would make the Daytona Date in the same size case as that YMII to differentiate it sufficiently from the regular Daytona.

The EXII release isn't a big surprise, but is it going to be just a white dial.....or might it be released in a matt black dial too

Who knows
My guess....if they released a Date-Daytona...it would only come in gold WG, YG, RG....no TT and certainly no SS...Just like the YMII...and it would cost a bomb and a half....but then again...who knows lol

not too worry, unless your 116520 arrives soon, there is probably a better chance of getting a new version Daytona from your AD after summer this year

(how long did they quote you for the wait? )

They are still there with the YMII under the YM section. The smaller YMs are in a different section.

Pity. I would go for a SS/Platy YM with a new clasp...

I wouldn't worry about it - new Daytona models didnt do the original daytona or the zenith daytona values any harm

Hehe I'm not worried about the value, just that I might like a daytona with date and want one too.

My bank balance can't handle such desires

I hope Rolex shakes Besel this year. I will be bitterly dissapointed if they introduce a new Explorer 2 and the only difference is that it has an orange hand and markings.

A date for the Daytona would be good. Although I find the Daytona dial to be quite busy already.

The AD that I visit says he has no idea what to expect each year at Besel. He usally attends each year.

Is it just me, or do images 1 and 3 feature the traditional case and image 2 features the super case?

It's a very skewed perspective. Looks closely at the crown guard "shoulders" - they are definitely from the new "super/maxi" case.
