5513 is a perfect 1973 watch, and in your price range. Here's mine that I just picked up (1973): http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=164601

I recently bought a birth year 5513 for myself (1971). I love it. To top it off, I set it just over a week ago and it is ~ +1.5sec/day. I truly love the plexi crystal and matte dial.
Good luck with your search

gmts generally sell for less than subs and have the 2 time zone feature. its your best bang for your bux. the DJs are nice but boring . i have a late 70s blue dialed one. just hold out for one with a good solid band and an original dial with no chrome surround markers. harry
