IMO that has a 3186 movement.

You can check by pulling the crown out to the date change position and noting how many hours the hour hand moves with one 360 degree revolution of the crown. From memory (and I stand to be corrected) a 3186 should move 8 hours. I can check my one tonight when I get home from the office. The 3185 only moves 5 or 6 hours?

The black bezel GMT II was my first Rolex as well. It is a great choice. Now all you (and I) need to do is acquire Pepsi and Coke Bezels, a Jubilee bracelet (w/ 502b end links), and a set of NATO straps. Then we'll be set. Great taste if I must say...

Perfect. It was my first as well. A great choice.
