What papers were they referring to? I bought it from TRF seller so the warranty card is not in my name but I do have it. Were they referring to the warranty card?

Its a subc. You reckon calling up an AD and getting them to fax over a quote price would do it?

Yup, papers/warranty card are the same thing.
I too am not sure how that'll work if the watch isn't in your name and you try to get a valuation or send it for service at a RSC and ask them to re-issue the new papers in your name.

RSC will not re-issue papers.....
It won't matter if they (the papers) are in your name or not. You will pay the AD a fee for the service, so they don't care who's name it's in!!
As long as the valuation states "current replacement cost" and you as the current owner along with watch particulars(IE:model, serial number and usually a description with photo), that's all your insurance company will need!

Firstly i feel honoured that i am quoted in your signature!!! ( please never remove it;))

Do your insurance company need the valuation like that?

Are they insisting on a written value? anyone here can do one for you, we are rolex experts

I only ask because in the UK i told my insurers the price and showed some pictures and they can search the value if unsure for themselves.
That is how they get a replacement value anyway.

I have no easy access to places selling Rolex hence its making things difficult I also don't really want to send my watch off in the mail to have it valuated. Getting insurance has proven to be a tough job so far!

Come to think of it the only Rolex selling place in Brisbane is that AD who quoted me $265 for a valuation and takes a week as they have to send it to RSC. I am going ion person as I don't want my watch to be out of sight and get posted here and there. Maybe I should just take a flight to Melb or Sydney, you guys seem to have better and fairer AD there judging but the fees posted or just give up getting insurance for now until the time is right for me to get to an AD out of QLD and get a couple of watches (to be bought) valuated at one go.

Well I went to J Farren in sydney and they wrote down the price of a new watch in the model I had on a piece of paper which had all thier details printed on it. It was hand written. But thats all you need for insurance purposes then take a few photos of your watch and send it all into to your insurance company.

Thanks guys for the help and clarification of what are the 'papers' they require. I reckon even if its just writing down the price they would need me to go down in person. I don't livein the big smoke and that is the main issue and I don't feel safe mailing my watch back and forth :( I might consolidate and do it at one go when I make a trip to the big smoke, I don't think I will go to the Brisbane AD as they charge $265 for one valuation, if I have 3 watches by then it would be more than the cost of the return air ticket LOL what a joke! Might go to Melb as it seems you guys there have more choices of AD to get it done at a cheaper fee.
