Interesting analysis. I would like see the Charmex at the AD.
What prompted you to buy 2 of them? A strong point for the SDDS is that they are very easy to sell as you stated. If you are going to keep a watch "forever", of course that does not matter. But many of us do not. Enjoy your new watches, they look very nice. |

The Charmax is a nice enough looking watch when speaking of the dial and bracelet. But the thickness of the case is overwhelming and impratical to wear everyday comfortably.
You have to enjoy what you buy and what you wear and I am sure it has LOTS of wrist presence due to size. I don't think it would be something for me. I have already stopped wearing most of my heavy watches.

The one I wanted was the yellow dial. Blk dial was 2nd on my list if I ever found a killer deal .... and lo and behold the killer deal shows up when least expected .... So I bought this one to see what the hoopla surrounding the CX is all about. I wanted to see it first hand and at the price I got, I can liquidate this thing without taking any loss ... infact I might even make a little profit on it.... So when I got the watch, it was just remarkable. Everthing about it, from the box down to the links and screws, screams QUALITY and I was not diappointed. This is a watch made by people who know wwhat the heck they are doing. no doubt about that. Even the links are double screwed on each side ...the watch is all titanium and the red on the buttons and the color of the case just do a visual number on you ... As far as yellow, I am getting that one for the color of the dial ... check out the 2nd album I have posted. you will see some yellow wristshots. I can measure dimensions of this watch all day long with a digital caliper and not too many people can relate ... but one thing you can do is the "pennies test". Stack up 25 pennies. This is the height from the top of the crystal to the flat surface. Since the case is resting on the bracelet, the bracelet ltself is 3 pennies thick. So since total is 25 pennies, 25-3 = 22 = height of the case. Stack up 22 pennies and you will get the thickness of the case almost 99.9% accurate ... thank you |

When you look at this watch, the CX 20000FT, you get the distinct feeling that this watch is made for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to dive deep.
When things are designed for one purpose only, they become beautiful to me. because their entire shape comes from the function they are supposed to peform. And since their function becomes so narrow, they do it at a way greater level of excellence than something that is more general....and that's what screams out at me about this watch more than any other watch I have ever seen in my life. |

Wowzers that's quite a beast but I find it intriguing... I'd like to see one at an AD and try it on just to get the feel of it. Good for you for finding something you like and being happy to wear it! Enjoy

Now THAT is a true tool watch!!
Makes my G-shock look like a toy!! I can't see using it for anything else other than diving, however. It definitely looks more like an instrument than a timepiece. That said, if you wore it as a daily wear to an office, I think it would come off as an attempted p*nis extension and have the opposite effect than you desire (ridicule, rather than admiration). Thanks for the excellent and detailed report. Wear it in good health.

Pennies test ... the 1cent pennies ... you stack them up. If I told you how high the case is, I can say for example 35mm ... but that's hard to comprehend ... therefore I suggested and came up with a pennies test.
So if the case of the cx is 22 pennies thick, then what people at home can do is make a stack of pennies 22 inches high ... in an instant they can now see how thick the case is .... it is something more substantial that you can see instead of some arbitrary number.... Plus measuring width can only be accurately done with a digital calipers ... no everyone has those...and using a ruler is impossible... |
