Datejust for first purchase?

Hi all, new to here. I've been enjoying the read on here. So informative, it's great! I'm wanting to get my very first Rolex. Was thinking about a new SS, DJ, silver dial with diamonds, jubilee, 116234. However, it appears the more popular Rolexes and the ones to hold value are the sport models such as the sub dates like the sub c. I know it comes down to what one likes, but just wanting to hear your thoughts/opinions. It probably won't be a daily wearer. I like the look of both. I'm sure I would end up with another rolex later on, maybe a sub, after getting the bug on here.
