Never liked the DJ very much. However, a couple of the DJII models captured my attention. So you know my vote.

DJ II is my vote, I like the 41mm better, just that simple.

Dj
I'd stick with a DJ. It's a classic, available everywhere (used or new), tons of dial/metal options, and a very tough, sport/dress watch. Price options because of the pre-owned market are big enough to allow you to buy a DJ and a Sub (pre-owned) for what a new DJII will cost.
I'm still not sold on the 41mm size for the DJII, either. They look great to me in the store windows, but when I see them on wrists, they look like over sized dress watches, instead of sportier DJ's. Why buy a dressier watch in such a large size? I'd much rather have a Sub or GMT as a large watch. |

I was HOOKED on the DJ II. Then come go time, I tried on a 36mm and never looked back! To me it was a lot more comfortable but everyone's wrist is different right?!
Good luck amigo!

I for one love the size of the 36mm DateJust... In this era of extra large watches I still think the 36mm has it's place!

I also think the original DJ is the perfect size, the new 41mm is just too big for a dress watch like that, go with a 36mm DJ!

DJ all the way....For me, I find no compelling argument for the DJII over the DJ.

What about this?
Ok guys and dolls. If you had to choose between a DJ SS WG, a DJ II SS WG or a white dial Milgauss, what would be your flavour of the month (or actually flavour of the rest of your life)?

I'm 6'3" and 7 1/4 inch wrist and the DJ seemed a bit small so I went with the DJII.

I like them both. With the DJ 36 mm, I like to wear them a little loose.

The 36mm felt too small

I would buy both gently used, but if that isn't an option, then go by wrist size. The DJII is a nice watch, but at 41mm it doesn't have the same amount of understatement and elegance that a true DJ would have. If you plan on flipping the watch later, I believe the DJII would be significantly harder to sell than the original DJ. But if you like a larger watch and/or have bigger wrists, than the DJII would be right for you. Both are great, but only you can decide!

All I know is a DJII might not fit under a french cuff. My DJ36mm snugly fits under my french cuffs.
