Thank you for the compliments guys. I totally forgot to mention that the owner of Skeie's threw in a beautiful looking watch winder for free. He said he couldn't discount the Daytona (I didn't expect him to given the rarity of the model and I was a first time customer) unlike other SS models. I'm not sure if this is common among Rolex AD's (I never got a watch winder from buying Omegas before ) but I appreciated the gesture.

Sorry for another hotel room shot. BTW, you can see my "Sapphire sandwich" in the background.

Congrats to you!

And I feel the same... started with my grail too. Now I wonder what I could possibly want next! But I'm not in a rush.

Funny story... Yesterday, after sitting on our butts watching a movie, hubby and I went to the CLOSED mall to just walk around a bit in the AC (it was 100+ degrees outside). While walking about, I was quizzing him on watches and how they do or don't hold their value, etc.

He mentioned the SS Daytona as being nearly impossible to get a few years back and how if someone could actually get one they could flip it for a few thousand more than retail because it was so rare. And how the SS cost more than the TT versions with the gold. I said "Wow".

And then, here you are, showing me a picture of exactly the watch he was mentioning! How cool is that! And I love the pic on your computer face.

Cheers!

Suzy

The owner of the AD where I got my Daytona actually told me that he knows quite a few folks who flip watches for a quick profit. I guess it's all supply and demand. I called several AD's in the Bay Area as well as in Oregon and Washington to no avail. I was just lucky to find one at Skeie's.

BTW, I'm glad I escaped the heat wave down there. In Seattle the weather is gorgeous in the 70's. Stay cool.

Very nice Eric! The SS is awesome and was my first Rolex as well not more than 3 or so months ago. Did the same thing, walked into an AD and they just happen to have one. Enjoy it. I see you are in the bay area...I just moved up here from San Diego last month, would love to meet some new friends in this area, especially with common interests.
