My old Tudor sub was consistently more accurate then my current 14060 will ever be.

Once more; many, many, many thanks for all your kind replies. Appreciated.

In the United Kingdom, I can find excellent condition vintage Tudor Submariners, from trusted and respected watch dealers for a very good price. But would have to pay around double that price for any Rolex Submariner in a similar condition!
That would make the Rolex Submariner around £1000 to £1500 pounds more! This is quite a lot of money!
I could almost buy two Tudor Submariners for the price of one Rolex Submariner!

I am very much leaning towards the Tudor Submariner. I also feel that they are not quite as common a sight as the Rolex Submariner?

I very much like the 79090 model with the matt black dial and acrylic glass. I also rather like the feel and weight of the folded bracelet.

I own a Sea Dweller and a Tudor Sub. I love them both but I wear the Tudor more than the Dweller.

As longtime Tudor fan, my choice would be Tudor Snowflake, without a doubt. Great watch, with reliable, high grade ETA movement inside.

I absolutely love the look and feel of my blue Tudor Sub 79090. In NY, I see a lot of black Rolex Subs worn, so I feel happy wearing mine since it is a different color and type of Sub. Good luck!

My blue Tudor Sub get 20 times more wrist time than my white SS Daytona. Cost aside, I think it is a more distinctive and unique watch than my Daytona. My next watch will be a Tudor Chronograph, which I love because it has a date function.

Here's my take on your question, for what it's worth.

I have Rolex and Tudor subs, and I enjoy each of them for what they represent to me: quality, design, history.

If you have to choose only one, just be sure that you don't make the mistake of buying the Tudor solely for the price difference. If you do that, you will wish it was a Rolex every time you look at your wrist.
If you buy the Tudor for its intrinsic value, then great.
Otherwise, save your money and buy the Rolex when you can afford it.

Tudors have a great history and were used by many members of UDT teams. The are not just a poor cousin, but a quality timepiece in their own right.

If you can get a folded link bracelet that is a bonus. I wanted to save mine and bought a updated bracelet through a Rolex AD, took less than a week, cost was about £200 - although I bet with recent price increases they are more now. Food for thought.

My thought is this , Tudors and used Tudors have been going up in value . In the used market your about 1000$ difference to a 14060 . It's a fantastic watch the tudor but if you have your heart set on the rolex , you'll always be looking at your tudor like you settled

I dont think it's an either/or proposition. I've sold both of my Tudor Subs and came out ahead on both. Someday, when the right blue snowflake comes along I'll snag it. However, my point being is you don't lose anything going for a well bought Tudor. Down the road you can make the decision if you want to add or flip into a Rolex.

Tudors have goofy hands and very little sex appeal, perhaps none at all. They appear to be styled from days foregone and long past.

The Omegas are modern and stunning and widely respected.

Just say no to Tudor.

Go Omega or save up for the real sub.

I would take on of those Tudor Subs... The 94010 is a great watch with the triangle dial and the rose dial of the 7016 is so cool!

Both Tudor watches are not common watches.

The Rolex 16800 is also a great watch but In this case i really would take the 94010. The service cost of the movements will be less more for those two Tudor watches as they house an ETA movement.
