Regardless, beautiful watch! I was mostly just joking about getting it wet, as opposed to the Sub which we KNOW you can't get wet. :) |

The old one is better.
Don't like the maxi dial or the added size. The new just looks a bit overweight, the classic lean and far more sexy! |

You might enjoy this thread I did last year on the topic.
I loved my Sub-C, but ultimately moved away from it. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=147497 |

Don't upgrade! Diversify. Try something different if you got the bucks to spend....

I just did it. I sold my 10 year old 16610 for quite a bit more money than I original paid for it (and I originally bought it new in 2001.) The way the market has been going, it is pushing the prices up on the used 16610's. They've been fetching a premium over their original MSRP, so to be perfectly honest with you, I just couldn't pass up selling it.
I took the cash and ended up buying a 3-day old 116610 from one of the forum members here for a really great price. In the end, it didn't cost me much money at all to do the upgrade to a new watch. I'm suspecting that after 10 years of owning the 116610 that I probably should be able to do the same thing all over again given the way Rolex keeps hiking the prices up. It's like I'm getting paid to wear the watch! :) |

Your money, but it seems like quite a lot of money for a new clasp (the other changes being almost entirely cosmetic).

Thanks, both. Obviously, I wouldn't even dream of swimming in my PP.

Is it the clasp that you really want or the Watch?
If the bracelet is the only factor, then my opinion is that you stay with your current watch, on the other hand if you would like to have the whole watch for the up grades then yes.
I like everything you have collected so far. Quote:

That's tough. You might regret it later. Wait a while and see if you suffer a few sleepless months before going down that road.

I too would love to wear a Patek, or a Lange, but I think I'd be too paranoid about water, scratches and damaging them. Im already a little bit that way with my Sub C, so a less robust (admittedly better made however) watch that costs 15k+ and is hyper expensive to fix would stress me out too much I think. :)
That being said I hope some day I'll find a way to wear a Patek, probably a Jumbo Nautilus. |
