Hard to believe GMT owners are just now finding out about this amazingly useful feature offered by the rotating bezel.

Once in a while. Usually to time when the parking meter is about to expire.

I had a feeling that alot of people didn't use this nice little feature on the GMT. I think everyone is conditioned to think the Sub or Daytona are the only watches that can time things.

One of the many reasons I have been convinced the GMT is the best watch Rolex makes.

Dan,
We are on the same page, my friend. The rotating bezel ain't rocket surgery.

The gmt really is useful in so many ways. I'm glad you finally "discovered" it...

I use it sometimes, pretty convenient. Although the sub, daytona, and ym are much more accurate in that regard.

gmt users should also be aware that the bi-colored bezel provides a quick visual reference for fifteen minute and thirty minute lapses - as is the case when i run.

True, but the GMT is close enough for government work!

Of course, why wouldn't I? Actually I use it more than I thought I might. Even on the IIC it's still accurate enough.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain it in more detail?

Line up the triangle as close to the minute hand as possible. Then measure elasped time on the watch. That simple. Obviously, on the Sub you do the same thing but measure elasped time on the bezel, not the watch.

Or if you know you need to do something in 20 minutes, you can put the triangle 20 minutes ahead of the current time. When the minute hand reaches the triangle, you know it's time to do whatever you need to do.

Works great though not as precise as the Sub since the triangle only has 24 positions on the GMTIIC. However, if you need THAT much precision then you probably need a Daytona.......

Its too unprecise for minutes, like previous mentioned eggs and tea, but when I start an 1 hour laundry, parking etc, its just fine.
