You can never know for sure but this would be the very first time in history that Rolex orchestrated a worldwide synchronous price increase.

My thoughts? There's a 0.5% chance of the dealer being correct and a 99.5% chance of it being a "Harold Camping" type prediction.

Ok so you don't know what makes sense about this thread? Well let me explain once more.... I was told by an AD that their was going to be another price rise across the world roughly around the 15th august, something to do with the Swiss currency of which I'm not sure. As a fellow member of the rolex forum I thought I would share this. If you don't appreciate what I have to say then fine I won't post and try to engage in conversation or talk about the brand in anyway at all, il just read everyone else's posts and sit here being quiet for fear of being made to feel like my posts are not worthwhile.

Well,

the 116610LN Submariner retails in Switzerland for CHF 7.600,-- which converts to US$ 9300,-- today.

I don't think, that Rolex will accept this gap for a very long time.

Yeah thats fine, but a 'set %' world-wide price increase surely can't work as it will raise prices, but completely accross the board making the difference the same...

Does the Swiss price include taxes? You need to look at before tax prices to compare properly-Rolex has no control over differences in taxation. Remember that some countries (ESP US and Canada calculate taxes separately so MSRP may look lower.

The Swiss currency is getting stronger & stronger, compared to a weak USD and a weakening Euro.
Maybe we should convince the Swiss to join the Euro

Really???

Just for you? Or for anyone walking into "your AD?"

How many watches have you purchased here - at that discount?

I think 15% could be done on ss depending on the model..
I got my date just which retailed for $5800 at the time (b4 price increase)
About 3 months ago for $5125 shipped no tax and 0% interest for 12 months he would have went $5000 even shipped if I did 6 months no intrest and prob more if I payed cash..

I agree, the Swiss Franc is just too strong and Rolex views it is an opportunity to reduce the price gap of their product worldwide. I wouldn't be surprised by this increase.

Will, in line with the trumor of the no discounts from AD next year.

I'm putting it out there that perhaps a watch sells now for X$ MSRP. Outside the normal annual increase there area few small % increases before the no discount period kicks into play during 2012, along with the normal annual increase next year.

So X watch now retails above the normal annual % increase at Y$.

Now, it is confirmed that no discounts will be given by AD at some time in 2012. X watch in 2011 has now risen is above the normal % rise PA, this may give the AD scope to discount slightly, yet still have the watch selling at the normal MSRP without the additional price increases prior to the no discount period setting in.

Just a thought. Cheers

YUP Just the current state of the economies (US and World), currencies... Not to mention the price of gold. I hope I am wrong but it is just my opinion

I would not be surprised at all if another price increase is coming next month due to the weak state of the US dollar but that does not account for a total world wide price increased so perhaps this will just be an increase in some parts of the world

Yup, I guess I could probably see Rolex giving prices another hike this year. But it will hurt!

Heard from my very reputable Rolex AD yesterday that there will be another price increase this year in US. They are not trying to sell anything to me, just came up in a conversation I had with her while getting my Panerai. Let's see what happens...always a good excuse to pick one up before an increase
