Why not? I think people can and should do whatever they want as long as it doesn't negatively affect another human being.

Always? Funny, it seems to me that the majority of Rolex owners do NOT modify their watch(es).

PADI said it perfect, my biggest complaint with Rolex is how restrictive they are. Why can't I get a SS Daytona with a Panda Dial? Why can't I get a DateJust with my choice of red/black/roulette date? Why can't I order one with a clear back to see the movement? The list goes on and on. I'm one of those that will not modify my watch (I hold nothing against those that do, it's your watch do with it as you want) but I understand some of the modifications are made. It's your watch and you want it to look as you desire. |

Great to see all the different types of responses!
Because of our unique personalities and taste, this will be reflected in the watches we wear and mods each person would do. I am from the school of thought, to leave watch as is from factory, however, the choice to make your watch your own with different mods to suit your taste, I totally respect that! Please keep ideas / opinions coming! |

I love modifyting my watches. Better than modifying wives I guess.
New bezel, hands, dial and brushed. Brushed everything in this one

Only one mod for me John, but totally reversible!!
For some it's about improvements, others about the looks with the added unique look. Personally, I'd never do a modification that could not be returned to original, but I do admire those that get creative and like to stand apart! For my YM, crown, buckle and caseback were changed...Improved the comfort and looks IMO!

Mods can be cool.
Usually the sport watches not dress models like DJ are the subject of mods. Rolex history of a tool watch is some of the basis of mods. That being said, I don't think rolex owners are "always" modifying their watches. |

because there is always that one little thing about your watch that you wish had been different. Seriously, I think the OCD that many watch enthusiasts probably have (I know I have a fair amount) is what causes many to always want to make a slight mod in search for the perfect look. Inevitably, I can always think of "one more" slight change I would like to make.

I like the clear case backs. It shows off the true work or art that the movement is. Especially the zenith and the 3135
Truly amazing.
