Blancpain 50 Fathoms. I prefer the "Dark Knight" black version with display back. AD's discount BP heavily, 30-35% if you're persistent.

$10k range. Ss daytona rules this number. End Of discussion. $20k is a much more interesting number. :)

My Choice would be the AP ROO Rubber clad, which I have. But finding one at $10,000 will be nearly impossible!

As stated before, put the price aside and go with what moves you. If you have to spend 10K for whatever reason then I would go with the 320...have you looked at the 352?
I'd also look around for a nice used APROO and be willing to pay up a couple of k as those pieces aren't even in the same league as most of the ones mentioned in this thread. |

I would get a sub-c Stainless Steel and throw the rest back in the bank and save and get a Datejust. Or I would get a TT sub-c black, absolutely gorgeous watch, wore one for months.

Well with all high end watches today dont think there is much to choose between them.Today most branded watches at any price will tell the time, but today we pay 70% for the name on the dial and 30% for the product. So is one $10K watch better than any other, well thats the $10k dollar question, better is in the eyes of the beholder.

If you like AP, how about a 15300 RO? They can be found on the forums for under $10k.

That's my problem and why I said $10k would be medium. I don't want to go up too much and would jump at a piece for less. I don't HAVE to spend $10k or $1 for that matter. I just have a budget and wanted to get ideas. Which you guys have done a hell of a job at doing! Quote:
That is a watch that I keep coming back to. I really love a heavy watch. Just a chunk of metal on the wrist. I've seen in person and really like it. But.... so many options.... I will NOT buy anything until I see this one in person. The pictures are making me crazy, but I want to have one on my wrist to see if it the one for me. Quote:
That is precisely why I asked the question. I am in no way an expert on watches. I wanted to know from those that have much more knowledge than me to give me options on what a solid watch for $10k or less is. I don't want to buy a "hip" watch because the brand or marketing says it is. Nikkos has me really thinking about that Sinn U1000. Different. Not in the "cool" category for those that are not in the know. I am not looking to impress anyone but myself. I am farther impressed with a watch that gets zero to no attention. But, at the same time (I may be contradicting myself here), I want a watch that I say "WOW" every time I need to see the time. So far, my GMT and 320 do that. A YG YMII does that, but I don't have $28k+ to drop on a watch right now! The AP ROO rubber (must be rubber) does that. But I am on the fence about it. I know for a few thousand more I can get one, but it spooks me a bit to pay that much. I've read a lot of the brand, but still don't know enough about the watch world to say "yes! It merits that much money". A Rolex gives me a warm feeling. I KNOW that it is a solid brand that will always hold its value and will work everyday no matter what beating I give it. So..... there is my dilemma in a nutshell. I want to thank all that gave their opinions. All really great ideas. I'm still open to suggestions or if anyone knows of a trusted seller selling an AP rubber clad with a white dial for $10k or less!!!! :r ofl:

For you, DSSD. Could always dress it down with a rubber strap, or dress it back up again. A solid watch that will hold its value if you decide later to trade up or down or across.

Thank you. That is what I am looking for. I know that it is very likely to lose when you trade up, but I don't want to buy a $6k watch, for example, and find that 5 years later it is only worth $1,500. I've seen many many like this on the For Sale section here. Before anyone says that you need to buy what you like without thinking of resale, that is simply not how my brain works. I could not sleep knowing something like that. I am only like that with watches, by the way. I can't explain why. I just am. (maybe because I have seen how other watches hold their values. Not increase, but they don't plummet either)
