I'm not at all familiar with rugby. I tried watching it for a while today and really couldn't figure how the game is played.
One thing is for sure though, those guys a tough bunch! No pansy helmets for them like you'll find on American football players. |

Distinctly moderate win for Scotland over Georgia this morning.
I had a blast from the past when my old rugby coach from school appeared on my tv screen after the game... I hadn't realised that Richie Dixon was Head Coach of the Georgia squad! When I was at school he was a Phys.Ed. teacher and Forwards Coach for the Scotland national squad...(in the days when rugby was just teetering on the Amateur/Professional cusp). Really pleased to see him doing well for himself, he was a top bloke!

Brilliant win for Ireland against the arrogant Aussies. Comprehensive victory. Outstanding tactics, defence and strength. This makes our quarter final options so much easier and leaves the Aussies facing South Africa in the quarter finals.

I'm an Australian descended from Irish that fled the homeland for more plentiful potatoes so either way suits me, definitely surprising though.

1845 was a long time ago.... The Australian rugby team are arrogant, not Australians in general. Although, if I was Australian I would be very upset to be from a country with 22m population and where rugby is the number one sport, and to have lost to an island with a 6m population where rugby is the number four sport!

By that logic China and India are going to smash the All Blacks

note the use of the word "potential" in my previous post, thus acknowledging the weak correlation between population and players. I appreciate you are a bit hacked off after such a defeat but don't take it out on me!

I still put it in the win column, like I said, Ireland I don't mind seeing win at all, if the USA or Russia beat us then that would be a nightmare, but I've got enough close relatives over there to be happy for them =D

may be the AB didn't want to peak too early and they let the tri-nation cup go to prepare for RWC... as the AB has been too confident in the last few world cups PS... I'm an Australian descended from NZ that fled the homeland for more plentiful potatoes |

I love this song:
Australia performed very poorly yesterday. Australia's next match (next week) is against the U.S.A. That should be a good game and I personally hope the U.S.A. wins. The World Cup is getting interesting, get on board and check it out. This is a once in 4 year event and it does involve the whole world (unlike the baseball World Series)

Great win for Ireland.. well done!
England, well, a win is a win, we got the bonus point so all good. Still need to improve but it looked better than the last game. Hopefully we can gain some confidence from Romania. England vs New Zealand Final ??

The Irish were brilliant last night, credit has to be paid where credit is due. They smashed our scrum and set a great platform upfront. Our backs (when they got the ball) tried to keep the pace up even in slippery conditions and made some poor choices I mean when you need a try and another scoring play why do you throw a behind the back pass and not just go to ground and recycle the ball quickly.
Overall the rugby has been outstanding and excluding the All Blacks rout of Japan the minnows have done really well. |

Well, an hour til the kickoff for Australia v USA.
Must win game for the Ozzies or it's an early trip home. It should be an easy win but, from a neutral point of view, I'd love to see the Eagles make a good fight of it!

Well it was a good game on Saturday and the Irish deserved to win.
The weather was terrible for the whole time we were there. We just got back from Auckland yesterday and we are 'rugby'd out'. It was great to catch up with JJ's family for daughter Yasmin and John's wedding on the 19th. We also finally caught up with Joe (bubba) and had a really good few days. Will post some pix on another thread. No pix of Bubba though 'cos he is one ugly mo.

Good try for the wallabies... Looked a touch forward on the first camera angle.
Ohhh... Another one as I typed! Looks like Australia don't have too much to worry about!

We maybe spoke too soon...!
I'd turn it back on Blackmsport! It's scrappy but the US have put them under a hell of a lot of pressure!
