Woops! My bad! It IS 18 bar, but it still squeezes out a brilliant cup of coffee.

I had a Krups Dolce Gusto machine brought for me but don't think it's as good as the Nespresso I tried in John Lewis the other day so have considered moving over to this !

After thoughts on a good quality easy to use espresso machine capsule or bean but must be pretty much fool proof lol :-)

I know you said to pm you but thought it might interest more people.
Would be great if you could ask your friend and let us know.

Any Super-Automatic is gonna be a no brainer. Just load up some beans, fill it with water, and it does everything else! I love it! Fresh cup every time!

different flavors, aren't that different

the machine was a gift from some house guests of mine.... i feel happy to use it because it reminds me of friends, but the coffee just isn't that good.

Have you tasted all of them? There is a world of difference between say Roma and Ristretto and everything in between. My favorites are Ristretto and Indriya. Both are 10 on the intensity but they are very different in flavor

Yeah, the Indriya is superb. Roma is nice too.

i have tasted them all and settled on my favorites...
the ristretto and the fortissio lungo...

i have lost touch with my friend with the smaller company machine for the moment, (i mentioned earlier in thread) but when it comes to me i will post. i know the coffee used in their pods was 100% arabica, he claimed this was the big difference. i thought the flavor really blew the nespresso away.

actually i may be passing by the restaurant where they were using the machine today, i will stop in and check for name.

I started off by ordering in all the espresso blends and after a few sleepless weeks :-) ended up with Restretto, Arpeggio and Roma as my rotation of choice.

Only problem is its killed some of the espresso's I'm used to being served after eating out at local places I just wait until I get home now !

as a follow up to my earlier post,
i stopped by the restaurant that had the off brand pod machine (that i thought easily bested the nespresso), due to very poor management, the restaurant is closed, i have lost contact with my friend and im unable to identify the brand name of the machine (it was a direct italian import using 100% arabica coffee & pods). i really thought this was far and away the best espresso i have had from a machine like this (i added the caveat that due to the questionable availability i might not opt for purchase however.)

the restaurant was "san rocco" located at 39 W. 24st NY, NY 10010
it has been boarded up as google maps will show. it seems that more money was going out than coming in? the espresso machine is tied into the restaurant.

guess the competition to nespresso would have been good but it will have to come from elsewhere?

i searched the web pretty thoroughly but couldn't come up with a conclusive brand name... sorry.
