The loupe tells all. It sheds away the facade of greatness - making all equal under it's peering eye.

Not for nuthin' but at the Rolex pricepoint, I expect a higher level of perfection tahn from the lessers. If magnified examination were the measure, there are certainly watch companies that provide more for less. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan and a believer but Rolex needs to step up!

looking at your watch through a loupe is like looking at yourself under florescent lighting...you'll see flaws that haven't even happened yet

A new Rolex watch should be free of visible defects to the naked eye. If you view anything at a high enough magnification you will find defects. What magnification strength do you think a Rolex should stand-up to? I recommend you put away the loupe and enjoy your watch.

a 4x loupe seems to only confirm what your naked eye is perceiving or what your naked eye would perceive in optimum lighting conditions... i don't think this magnification is unreasonable?

Shouldn't you expect perfection if you are spending $8,000+ on a watch?? Rolex says in its "pursute of perfection". They should live up to that in its manufacturing IMO
