Steps to heal your problem:
1) PM your best price of your 114270 to me 2) Paypal plus fees to you 3) DHL express to me 4) Sit back relax and rehabilitate yourself 5) Move on 6) Buy Rolex again |

Sorry to hear Dan..
Hopefully today will be a better day. I think a SubC or 16610 would be my suggestion but I would take a short break from buying anything and just try to kick back for a while.
Best of luck. |

Here's my suggestion:
1) Stay with the Exp 39MM ( which I love, btw) or Sub ND...OR seeing that you've tried so many Rolexes and can't seem to find the one.... 2) Think Outside the Box and Learn to Love Another Brand...There is life beyond Rolex and its name, you know! The Omega Speedmaster Moon seems to fit all your criteria. Classic, Simple, Symmetrical, Rugged. Not every other guy wears one. Only seen a couple in the wild. Wears closer to 40 MM even though 42MM b/c of the domed crystal. Extremely comfortable. Perfect Form, Function. Good Luck... |

Dan, I'm sorry the Explorer I hasn't worked out.
One day - in the distant future when we've totally sorted nano tubes and whatnot - we'll have watches that are liquid metal - think TII - and can morph into whatever we want on the whim of a moment; Now, a chunky great sports watch, now, a slim, elegant dress watch, now, a hybrid of the two. But until that day comes Dan, WILL YOU PLEASE CHOOSE A GODAMN WATCH!!! |

Dan, when you mentioned what watch you were buying I knew this was going to happen. That's why I made the comment I made on the other thread. It is a small watch. And I also understand your going crazy with this hobby. It does play mental mind games with me as well. Sell the darn thing, buy a nice heavy TT Daytona and move on.

Wow, that was quicker than the Kardashian divorce!
Seriously Dan, as you mentioned, it's probably best that you take a breather. Stay away from the FS section, my friend. Good luck! |

coming back to this thread, i don't want to think you're upset or sad, dan. it's only a watch, after all. so, lets keep looking forward with our chin up. now, looking at that photo you posted, i see a very clean image with white, red and black colors of some dude, umm, exploring. your sub-conscious is at work here, dan. i have your solution....... make it happen! keep the dream alive! (btw, apologies in advance if the 16570 white was one of the 10 watches you flipped over the last 20 months....can't keep them straight. ) |

I agree that sometimes it takes a while to get used to a watch. I'd keep it for a couple of weeks, and if it still doesn't look right, get rid of it.

Why not let us here at TRF help you decide - once and for all - what to go for. Start a Poll Thread with, say, your top 5 contenders. I feel there IS a watch out there for you somewhere - and it IS a Rolex. It will come to you when it's ready mate. |

Sorry for your difficulties, Dan. You know, there are no doubt lots of TRF members who only have one watch, who have been content with it for years. Maybe they can offer some words of comfort!

I would take a break for a while and explore one of your other hobbies...but before you leave, grab a 14060M (which has always seemed to be your soulmate) and just enjoy the heck out of it without over analyzing it. Wear it everywhere for one year without wavering and you will be cured.

I've been there buying watches that a few weeks later I thought, what the hell was I thinking? But at the time you're convinced it's what you want, and as stupid as it sounds, you need to own it to know it's not really for you.
Good luck, you'll find what you want in the end. |

Thanks everyone (well, most everyone). I feel slightly better today. Going to chalk it up as part of my watch education.
