Thanks John, I absolutely loved it but I am a jeans guy and it had just a bit too much "pop" IMO... I left the AD with a GV unstead

I think that the white stick with the TT is rather understated and not a bling at all. Now, if you did the champaign with sticks, this attracts a bit more attention by bringing out a gold color in the center of the watch a little stronger, especially if you do the champaign with diamonds.
In my opinion, seeing the white dial and the two tone in person I think there is a reserved quality to the white dial that allows it to be worn in more casual settings without being out of place. I think it's a good do-it-all watch if that's what you're looking for. I think the white dial with the all gold daytona, yellow gold, is bling, but in the TT it's a do it all for my .02. Good luck shopping! |

I had one for a bit, it was blingy......Nice, but no hiding that shiny gold from anyone.
The thing that turned me off was the way that gold bezel stuck out past the case. I must have picked up 100 dings on that cursed bezel. |

I loved mine while I had it - the Panda dial sets it off. Would agree it's more sporty rather than blingy.

They are not as bling as you would think...I would classify as dressy and reserved, but not bling like maybe a breitling...daytonas are too subtle for the term 'bling'

The 6 in the center circle is upside down. It was a mistake by the watch maker and was corrected. Check a watch made after 1995 and you will see the difference.
In 1988, Rolex introduced a new model Daytona to the line up. This model replaced the not so popular and poorly selling (at the time) 6263/5 which were manual wind. The new Daytona (16520) had a similar design but with some new improvements.. The biggest improvement was the new 4030 self winding movement which was based on a zenith movement which oscillated at 36,000 beats per hour but regulated to 28,800 by Rolex. This provided Rolex with an incredible accurate chronograph which was also up to chronometer standards in a well tried and proven movement. The other noticeable improvement was the new crown guards which was now very prominent and the new dial and subdial layout. The bezel was now only offered in steel. This new attractive dial combination including the added bonus of a self winding movement was a big hit with Rolex customers and created a huge revival of the vintage Daytonas which were previously looked as a cumbersome and ugly. Even today, the steel models are very sought after by collectors and enthusiast and demand a large premium |

The DIALS
There are five basic dials for the 16520 Mark I This is common in the early watches with serial starting with R (1988) and L(1989). This is one of the more desirerable configurations with the word "Cosmograph" located lower in the dial or "Floating Cosmograph". As a matter of fact, the whole text "ROLEX, Oyster Perpetual, Superlative Chronometer" is situated lower than the later dials. The subdials use a rounded and smaller font. The subdial at the six o'clock position (hour totalizer), the number six is inverted and appears as a "9" and not as the intended "6". This "defect" appeared in dials as late as 1994-5. The subdial at the three o'clock position (minute totalizer), had four "dash" markings between five minute markers as opposed to later dials which only had three "dash" marks. This is a tritium dial and is labeled as "T SWISS T" at the six o'clock position. This dial configuration was made for about one year. |

TT Blue Arabic Dial
I debated this as well, but in the end I like the TT models and the Blue dial really stands; also you have a better selection (imho) of dials , if you want to change them in the future. I'm very happy with this Daytona. hope this helps, |
