Love it, javierleon
After i saw the pic from Michel33 (in the modified rolex thread) i have tried to source a 16613/16808 blue silver insert but with no luck I guess that if i ever find one, it 'll stay permanently on my LV. Please guys PM me if you have any tips. It will be kindly appreciated |

You're right, 16808/16613 blue inserts are supposed to have gold numbers and thus cannot fit a stainless steel Sub. For whatever reason, a few of them were printed with silver numbers, in the end of the eighties (16808) and in the beginning of the 90's (16613). Rare and difficult to find in a good shape, but so nice....(and a real Rolex part). (However, you still have to switch the pearl with a white gold cercled one, as there is originaly a yellow gold cercled pearl on these inserts.) |

That's a great mod but finding that blue/silver bezel insert is the problem.

Javier,
Wonderful pictures, as always! And lovely modifications in this thread. Would you mind adding your Jubilee bracelet to your Submariner in that setup, and snap a couple of pictures? Your pictures of the LV with standard bezel inlay and Jubilee is soo inspirational. Best, A |

Maybe I am misunderstading, but the 16808/16613 insert will FIT a 16610, no matter the color of the insert. Concerning the color of the font, most all of the 16808's I have seen have silver font, and in fact, my F 16613 that was purchased in '04 has silver font. (All of the ones I have sold were the same way.) I thought the font was ALWAYS gold on both, but not the case in my experience. I have even had a new blue insert in the bubble from Rolex, and lone behold, siver font. Once put into the gold bezel, a gold hue shows up, I suppose from reflection? That being said, I am eagerly trying to find a NEW 16613 insert with gold lettering, so keep your eyes out. I hope this post will make more people post what color of font is on their 16613's...

To add to my above post #40, some quick searches yeilded many different shades of font on the 16613 insert... and some heated discussions! I am going to start a new thread about this...

Bought one w/ a bezel off eBay. Love the look, but I still think the green insert looks better. Time to sell it on eBay...

I've often wodered why Rolex don't make a blue dial/bezel for the SS models.
They make a green one and they make blue and green in TT and YG. Why not in SS? |

Love the blue insert. I prefer it over the green for sure, maybe even the black. Nice to be able to switch back and forth though
