None of this matters. Just buy what you like; wear it; and enjoy it. When it's time to sell, if that's what you decide to do, see then what it fetches. Bam! Done! Smiles :)

IMHO it would be the GMT due to its flexibilty on bezel changes

This is true only for the non-ceramic model, though...come to think of it, the OP didn't specify which iterations of the two models he was interested in.

OP, if you're still reading this, *which* versions of these watches were you talking about: Sub 16610 vs GMT 16710, or the newer ceramic Sub 116610 vs GMT 116710?

I agree with the poster and when I purchase a Rolex then it will be of some investment to me but not a money making investment more of a "enjoyment fund" so if I put 5K into a watch and sold it 3 years down the line for 5K then I would have returned a good investment in regards to owning a Rolex.

If the 5K sat in a bank account what sort of interest would I have had over 3 years???? not much at the moment with interest rates and it would be very boring in comparison to owning a top time piece.

My theory is buy-enjoy-resell-recoup-reinvest-enjoy!!

when you decide to sell it, your return on your investment will depend how much you paid for it originally.

IF you pay retail msrp for a subc and a gmtIIc, i almost always see the Sub being worth more.
