I promised myself I would go easy this year, but those guys get great watches in. Another couple of days and I would not have been able to resist. You did very well, there were a lot of people after it, two phone calls while I was there and I know somebody else in Sydney was chasing it. A lot of watches at that store just don't last, you have to be quick. Maybe you'll take the time to show me it one day. All the best and enjoy. |

I had to trade in my early 70's Flightmaster for the upgrade - maybe it will appear in the window soon |

911 or 910? They are great looking watches, I own a 911, again from this store. I'm going to keep mine for a while yet. |

yeah it was a 911 and hard to part with and I would have better off keeping her - but I have to run a small stable unfortunately!
not the best of photos but here she is (in memoriam) .... |

Very nice.
I still think you made the right move, that particular 5513 was fantastic. Everything about it was nice. The patina and the faded bezel were outstanding. If you ever decide to move it along in the future, keep it local and put me first in line. All the best. |

the 5513 received its first comment today ... "you should get that re-lumed, the hour markers are all yellow" I guess not everyone gets the allure of vintage!

I used the SN Listing on Qualitytyme.net. It would be a 1970 on that list--that is why I asked if you had seen the inside of the caseback--for the Roman Numeral and Year designation.
After reading your reply to me, I searched for other SN listings and each time the 2.4M number comes up as a 1968. This is the first I found out that there are dueling SN listings :(( Momma Mia..... |

Great piece, nice insert and dial patina. Congrats!!! 5513 is IMHO the best example of a clean and elegant watch!

My apologies for referring to your excellent 5513 with a 2.4M SN# as a 1970 watch. Your response sent me into search mode and all lists except the one I referred toindeed place it as a 1968 watch. I just scanned thru the Serial Number project listing and 2.4M correlates with numerous example of 1968 watches. If you ever take off the case back, please let us know what it says. I'm sure it will say something like "II 68." Again, my sincere apologies--I'm still learning this Vintage Rolex area.
